I have passed by this hotel a number of times on past stays in Rome in the Monteverde area and have thought it would be a good place to stay. The hotel has strong appeal from the outside with beautiful gardens and a great pool. The rooms were charming, we had two, but each had the tub set-up with the handheld shower. You can't shower and not get the water all over the floor. We noticed other rooms had a shower only, they should convert them all. The breakfast room on the top floor was a great place to overview the area including the dome of St. Peter's. The restaurants in the close by area were good, but if you figure out how to find the long set of steps by the nearby Dell'Acqua Paola Fountain, you can quickly drop into the Trastevere neighborhood, full of fantastic bars and restaurants. Buses are close by and the hotel can quickly arrange cabs. We were there 8 days. During that time, the hotel had 3 events at the pool that had loud music until midnight. Not a problem with our room on the front on the hotel, but could be a problem with the room we had on the back of the hotel if you are early sleepers. All in all though, a great stay, we will return.
Hotel was clean but in need of refurb. Staff were very helpful and very friendly. Location was too far out to walk to main attractions but under 10 min walk to Tram Station. For the price paid it was reasonable.
Great residential rental. Affordable and very modern, clean. The staff are a bit hard to get a hold of, but I think that's just all of Italy in general with their siesta break in the afternoons. The rooms are extremely modern, clean and well kept. The only real negative is that location. It's a bit out of the centre of Rome and at the time the tram that serviced that area was not working so it was either a gong show to take the bus or a 15-20 minute walk to the bus station to catch the tram. Not really the hotels fault I know, but just shows that it's not close to any subway line. I would stay again, but give myself more time to see Rome due to the transportation issues.
The Monteverde area of Rome leads up from the ancient Trastevere neighborhood to the beautiful top of the Gianicolo hill, which offers a breathtaking view of the city. Villa Doria Pamphili, one of the largest public parks in Rome, is on the Monteverde hill and includes the beautiful 17th-century villa and gardens historically owned by the Pamphili family.
