I stayed here while vistiting Georgia southern, and checked in around 10. When I came back to my room around 2 am the heat was not working. I went to the front desk and I was in a suite within 5 minutes. Staff was friendly and room was clean.
I got in at 10pm; manager saw my arrival and had registration form and key ready; he confirmed my room, asked if I wanted an upgrade to non-smoking (expedia pkg was for king smoking room) king, which I did. He explained breakfast 0ptions (pancakes, waffles and pastries) and showed me where my room was personally. Room was well-organized, well--stocked and clean considering the price was rock bottom. Bed was wonderful after 6 hrs on the road. I have already told everyone in my family who travels from Florida to GA about this hotel. Can't say enough good things!!
Except, it was hard to find. Roads are dark and not well marked, but not the fault of the hotel; most likely my error and overtiredness, led me on a drive to a less than attractive neighborhood. This area is mostly college related and service personnel for the college. Again, no fault of the hotel or its management.
While my experience with booking the room with Expedia was less than satisfactory, the staff and leadership at the Holiday Inn in Statesboro was fantastic. Due to a glitch with the Expedia booking system, the reservation could not and would not be changed, the Senior Staff at the Holiday Inn demonstrated exceptional customer service.
Leadership was found to be both knowledgeable and responsive to my needs. Way to set the standard high for customer service and meeting your customer's needs. Thank you!
