“Lovely hotel in a quiet location”
The hotel is in a leafy suburb of Genoa and is conveniently located near a bus stop. The hotel itself is stylish and modern and a lovely breakfast was included in our rate. The standard room is rather compact, but we upgraded and were put into a suite which was stunning.
“Ben Carter”
A great value hotel overall. We paid a very reasonable price for a standard room and were very pleased. Hotels in Genoa aren't cheap in general and in fact this was cheaper than some of a much poorer standard, e.g. one of the marina hotels. The location isn't right in the middle of the action, but Genoa is such a small place its still walkable (15 mins tops) or there's a taxi rank right outside the hotel. Its location also stands in its favour as its quiet and safe, with a few bars across the road. Nice looking bar area, though we didn't use it. Lovely pool, though naturally small. All felt luxurious and yet relaxed at the same time. Our room was the most basic they do and, whilst not exactly huge, was perfectly fine and had a lovely parquet floor. Would highly recommend.
“Excellent”
The bentley Hotel is excellent in every way. It is quite a steep walk uphill away from the town but there is a bus that takes you virtually to your doorstep and numerous taxis. Wonderful room and bathroom. Can't fault it.
“Genoa Bentley”
The hotel was very modern with a clean room. TV embeded into the mirror in the bathroom. There was no shampoo supplied. We called housekeeping to deliver shampoo, but it was not delivered. Even though the rate included "Free-Internet" there was a charge listed when I attempted to log-on. The front desk did not supply a complimentary internet code. There was a greak local restaurant within 5 minutes walk from the hotel - they did not speak any English but the experience was wonderfull. The breakfast buffet was disappointing, certainly not up to the standards of a 5 Star hotel. The scrambled eggs and potatoes were cold. Overnight parking fee was high at 35 Euros. the hotel location was not in easy walking distance of many sights - would have to take a taxi.
“Great hotel but....”
..if you are looking for a hotel that is really centrally based then this is not the hotel for you. If however you are looking for a hotel to use as a base to get out and see the outlying areas as we did then it was great. The Hotel is staffed by some really lovely people who are only too delighted to help and assist. The prices in the hotel bar are too high and I am sure that a review here might encourage more people to use the bar as a starting point to a great evening out.
“Stylish comfort in Genoa”
I can't wait to return to the Bentley Hotel and the fascinating city of Genoa and the beautiful Ligurian coast. The Bentley provides comfort, excellent service and a superb concierge service. The restaurant is excellent with a wide choice at breakfast and a delicious dinner menu. The staff are friendly and helpful - and in fact there is nothing about this I dislike
“Very modern and clean hotel”
The hotel was great, only a few of the front desk staff spoke English but they were very helpful. The hotel is very clean and modern, it was nice to be able to walk to a main shopping street from the hotel. The only downside was that there was no business center and the restaurant was very gourment - too gourmet for us.
“Great Hotel in Genoa”
The Bently Hotel is a true 5 star hotel and is in a great neighborhood in Genoa - quiet yet near the old town. The staff is very professional and the food is quite good at the restaurant. The rooms are large and well appointed.
“Hands down the best hotel in Genoa”
This hotel is worth every penny; it truly lives up to the standard of European 5 star (which generally means you can remove at least 2 stars to get the true standard of the hotel). The room was immaculate, the bed's comfort almost on par with a Ritz, the bathroom fantastic (large soaking tub, marble, beautiful glass shower, luxury toiletries)...the lobby beautiful and sprawling...and the service was impeccable - I ate (a very very good) dinner at the restaurant and someone happened to call for me from the US during that time. The front desk clerk literally ran around the hotel looking for me with the hotel's cell phone to get the call to me and was apologetic that she didn't get it to me sooner! I've never had such courteous service on small things that truly do matter. The included breakfast was great as well. The location is a bit far from the touristy sites, but in Genova's case that's a good thing - you should not be in the heart of the seedy downtown area. It's about a 15 minute walk to the popular September XX. I highly recommend this hotel and its restaurant. (FYI - I am a frequent traveller to Italy and have stayed for extended periods in various cities.)
“It could have been a 5”
This is a great hotel - probably the best in Genoa but let down by a few 'electrical' blips eg the air con did not work one night, the jacuzzi did not work nor the steam room, CNBC kept cutting out etc etc. Also the safe is not big enough to take some laptops. Having said that, this was a lovely, comfortable stay and we had the added bonus of a balcony. You can get to the hotel on the bus if you prefer not to spend out on a taxi. Take the Volabus to Principe and catch the 35 bus which drops you on Corsica, virtually outside the hotel. All for 4 euro.
