“A belle view indeed”

The hotel is situation right above the station with lovely views of the station and you can see the sea in the distance. We were given a room with a little balcony and theres two terrace areas and a coffee and drinks machine superb! Also you get a english movie channel, so good after watching generic news channels and German music tv. The breakfast was absolutely gorgeous with freshly baked pastry lovely juice and great coffees.

“Locked in”

Whilst the hotel was very central and convenient to the railway station, to our horror we found that we were locked in, with no one available to let us out to catch a train at 6.45am. There was a sign stating check-out before 7.00 am to advise reception, however we were not checking out merely catching an early train for a day trip(and hadn't actually noticed this little sign). After a frantic search of the hotel, we found someone eventually who was reluctant to let us out, almost missing our train. We were concerned in the case of an emergency what might happen, other than opening a fire door- thus evacuating the whole of the hotel.

“You get what you pay for.”

A useful location, right next to the main railway station, but a bit of a walk into the centre of town. There is some ambient noise from the trains, but the rooms on the whole seem well sound-insulated. There was an adequate breakfast, and the breakfast room was large. The rooms and corridors are probably well overdue for redecoration; worn carpet, and a smell of stale disinfectant, are abiding memories. However, it was clean, and as one of the less expensive three star hotels, what was on offer was what I paid for.
