    “Auteuil”

    We had a room next to the maids closet which was extremely noisy in the morning and woke us up.

    “Lovely hotel and neighborhood”

    I've stayed in Geneva 4 times. This lovely boutique hotel was the right price in a great location. The staff was accomodating. Rooms are small in Europe, as a rule, but this was roomy by their standards. We were out and about, so didn't eat there - I can't comment on that. But I would definitely go back again.

    Area recommendations
    This area was great for shops and restaurants and near the lake and botanical gardens. The walk to Old Town was farther, but easily accomplished.

    “Convenient Location”

    The hotel is beside the main train station and is a main street in Geneva. About the room, it was clean and comfortable.

    “Great location”

    Great location and comfortable hotel. Convenient to Geneva, restaurants and train/tram/bus transportation. 5 minute walk and then 15 minute train to the airport. Helpful and attentive hotel staff. Definitely a good choice for a stay in Geneva.

    “Good quality hotel in a good location”

    The Hotel Auteil is within a short walk from the main train station (5 mins) and, therefore, the local public transport (provided free with a pass from hotel reception). It is a good quality and comfortable hotel with very friendly staff.

    Area recommendations
    Visit the old town, the designer shops in Rue du Rhone and take a leisurely walk around the lake.
    Getting there
    Trains from the aiport to the main station are free but remember to pick up your passes in the baggage reclaim area before you leave the airport.

    “Very swanky hotel.”

    Stayed in this hotel after camping in Grindelwald for 5 days and it was a little splash of luxury. Very close to the station, five muniute walk, and very lovely receptionist. Reception was very good and well decorated and the room was sizeable and again very nicely styled. The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the main part of Geneva but tram does give access if you don't want to walk. Free travel pass with hotel made this even better. Only downsides were the location as not in the nicest area if you want really posh restaurants. Would recommend Little India which is nearby. Also hotel lifts are tiny which was an issue if you have big packs with you. All in all a very good hotel.

    “over priced”

    Hotel should in my opinion not carry a 4 star rating as only a very expensive breakfast on offer with no lunch nor dinner being served in the resteraunt. Rooms ( standard ) are extremely small and our room had the view of the railway line. Area of location of the hotel shabby

    Non specific but lake side area and side streets can be intimidating at night, Geneva not what we had expected with regards to an experience of Switzerland . May decide to visit Switserland again but would not choose Geneva.Overall a very expensive trip

    “Very Nice Place To Stay While In Geneva”

    Upon arriving in Geneva we were anxious to get to the hotel after being up 32 hours straight. We found the hotel very easily in that it is on a main street in the city and located extremely close to the train station. We expected the rooms to be small because of what we had read earlier. It was no issue for us. Our room was on the "track" side of the hotel meaning it faced the rail yard. We also thought that was a possibility because of what we had read before booking. It was absolutely no issue with us. You could barely hear the trains. The room was well insulated with thick glass. The trains were interesting to watch. The bathroom was very nice and clean. The room was very comfortable except for the bed "sheets" which were hot and thick with no way of making them cooler. The rooms were "air cooled" but not cool enough to make up for the "thick" sheets. We got hot at night so we either slept with the "thick" sheet on or off...no in between. There was no dinner restaurant in the hotel which did not bother us in that we liked to go to different places to eat...and there are lots of them close by. Auteuil is about five blocks from the lake, two from the train station and ten minutes from the airport by train. PICKPOCKETS are thick in Geneva and a visitor needs to keep his/her guard up at all times. This is no reflection on the hotel just additional information. We have stayed fancier and worse. Auteuil is a good value, nice place, with very few issues for us.

    Area recommendations
    There are many things to see in Geneva. Auteuil is in a more international part of the city. But, if you cross Lake Geneva the Old City awaits you with open arms. If you have an iPad or iPhone download one of the walking tour apps because they really work well. If you really want to see Switzerland get a rail pass. You can go anywhere by rail you want for one fee. Absolutely great value. The rail pass will get you into many places for free. Get it and use it. Basic transportation is also free in that Auteuil will give you a pass to go anywhere in Geneva where public transportation is available...which is everywhere. WARNING! Pickpockets are everywhere. We were "mugged" down by the lake with hundreds of people watching. These crooks will ask you for the time then try to take your watch. Others will try to engage you in some kind of playful activity like soccer then take your wallet while you are trying to figure out what is going on. After the incident we learned of many others being "attacked'. The attackers are usually in groups and only interested in your cash and jewelry. There is an absence of police in Geneva so just be aware of your surroundings at all times...mainly in crowded areas including the train station and airport. Lastly, opportunities for sightseeing are abundant. We did ours by rail because trains go everywhere. Rent a car if you want but there is no need. Except for the one incident, which kept us on guard, it was a great stay.

    “Geneva Hotel Recommended.”

    Location in relation to the main train station, cleanliness, value for your money. This is definetely a hotel I would recommend and stay at. Breakfast is pricy but there are plenty of options in the area. Hotel staff firendly and very helpful.
