“Nice New Quality Hotel”

Good hotel (fairly new) with all mod cons, breakfast good and staff excellent. The only thing I didn't like was the underpass that you had to cross to get over to the old town, if you took a cab it was ok but I certainly would feel uneasy walking through it late at night. Cabs from the old town are reasonably cheap so take one back to the hotel if out in an evening only 15PLN.

Area recommendations
The old town has some nice hotels and also by the riverside where you are more likely to feel more safe.

“would return here”

Excellent hotel and great value: They would not extend the same rate for an extra day, so through you I moved two blocks to a nicer upscale brand hotel and saved fifty bucks:

Area recommendations
The zhole tozn is easily accesible: I would reco,,end the electric car tour: I lucked into a late night two and a half hour tour with Martin FREE because of our Polish bond and his taking care of the priest from the states: I promised hi, the same tour of my declining homtown and¨¨medieval churches¨¨ in the the Anthracite region of Pa. ! PS Wit difficulty; I am using a Paris keyboard!

“Good value for modern hotel room”

Very pleasant hotel. Single room was modern, very clean, comfortable, nicely furnished, and with a comfortable bed. "Silent" rooms on the upper floors have windows above eye level and thus do not provide a view of the city or surroundings. Hotel is located about two blocks from the city centre, but in a somewhat unpleasant neighborhood. A good, but not outstanding, buffet-style breakfast was included in price. Very good internet price made this hotel a best buy. Excellent reception staff. A solid 3-4 star hotel with fewer amenities than most.

When to go
The first three weeks in August during the annual Dominikanska Fair.

“I'll be back,,,:) Go there ,, you'll be happy,,”

The Hotel is very well located within a few minutes walk from the old city center. it is also next to a Tram Station if there is a need to travel to other parts of town or to the main Train Station. The Hotel itself was a great experience. Very nice and helpful Staff. The room was very nice, clean, modern and comfortable. Breakfast in the Hotel was the best i have seen in a long time. I do lots of European Travel and this one was exceptional. A very rich and elaborate buffet that will make you want to spend hours in the Breakfast hall. I am normally a very small eater however i made the Breakfast there every day a special event,, woke up extra early and spent at least an Hour sampling as much as i could ,, with a beautiful View of the river next to the Table. The Hotel is situated right on the river bank and they have their own small Tour Boat in which they offer Free River tour to the Hotel Guests. The Tour takes you in front of some of the City most beautiful areas and up to the Ship Yards area. About 30-45 minute of fun and great Photo vantage points.

Area recommendations
Once out of the Hotel you can walk pretty much everywhere you like. You need to spend lots of time exploring all the streets of the Old City. (at least a full day or two if you can) they all have beautiful Buildings,Charming small streets with interesting Shops and great little restaurants. Gdansk was Fully restored after being destroyed in WWII and it was restored to its former Glory. Unique, Magnificent, Clean and full of life. In the Evenings there are always some Street Shows (small or big) .and in the Summer on occasion they have Large Stage shows Free for the public .
When to go
Summer is more then likely the only time to travel to Gdansk on a leisure Trip. Probably from Mid June through August. Weather was nice and warm with Blue Sky during my stay in July however like any place in Europe one must have with them always a light Sweater or two since Weather can change abruptly. In most cases there may be some Rain or Clouds for a short time and then things go back to normal. If you are flexible with your arrival/departure dates like i normally am, you can also look at the Forecast as close as possible to your Arrival and see if you can change things around with Hotel/Flight in case some really nasty weather is threatening your fun. I would not however worry or stress about it too much Even with an occasional rain shower . That's how Europe is.
Getting there
I flew to Gdansk from Frankfurt, there several flights a day from there but probably there are many flights from other European Cities as well. The Airport in Gdansk is very Friendly and easy to get around in.
Getting around
Gdansk is a "walking" City. the only way to really enjoy everything is Primarily by Foot. An occasional Tram Ride may really only be needed if you want to Go direct to the main Train Station from the Hotel and back. it's very practical since it takes 5 minutes and the Tram stops almost in front of the Hotel.
What to pack
Shorts / T-Shirts for the day, good walking shoes, Light sweater or two Mini Umbrella if you like to walk in the rain on occasion, For the evenings, unless you don't mind looking always like a tourist some nice clothes are always better in Europe. you will notice that Locals are never out even during the day and especially at night dressed as if they just "fell of the Bed". unless they go to the Beach or some outdoor activity everyone is mostly looking their best in public. Some basic medication is always good to have with you and especially first aid items like band-Aids and Cream for Minor Cuts and bruises. Waterproof Band -Aids also not a bad Idea.
Must see
Must see: the Maritime Museum next to the old city on the River bank. It is very interesting for everyone and part of it is also a very large Ship that is permanently Moored on the River. You can go on all parts of the Ship (a great experience also for Kids) and From the Ship you can also take some Great Photos. Must take the Train or a Taxi to the small City of SOPOT,,,very close to Gdansk, was about 20 minutes with the train from the main train station. Its has a gorgeous main Street that leads you to a beautiful Beach Area. as nice as i have seen in France,,,Lots of charming Restaurants and very lively atmosphere. all fits also for kids.
Shopping
Due to the fact that Poland has their own Currency, The Zloty, Shopping / Dining for the most part is very reasonable for Americans and Europeans. There is a nice shopping Mall inside Gdansk within walking Distance from the old City (just ask around) , some very interesting and unique shops inside as well as more ordinary stores. definately worth a visit. There is also a Gorgeous Mall within a few minutes Train ride from the main Train Station (ask in the Hotel for directions). also worth the time if you have to go there and shop. Many items and Fashions in all places and Malls you will simply not find elsewhere (especially not in the U.S.A) If you like unique Jewelery there are many Amber Shops (remember, explore all Streets in the old City) with incredible Amber Art / Jewelery for every taste.
Dining
Must try some Polish Cuisine at different restaurants. All the local food is very tasty and very well prepared.
Family-friendly activities
The entire city is family Friendly.
Outdoors or beach
City of Sopot as described above is best for a Beach day.

“Tremendeous choice!”

I can only repeat myself("Travel experience") - just the view out of my window could have been better, but the Hotel is excellent!

“Comfortable and relaxing hotel”

Even though the check in was not totally as expected, the hotel was great: large and comfortable room, clean, good service, delicious breakfast. There's not much around, but the centre is only 5 minutes away so the location is very convenient. There's even a sauna and fitness centre - only the swimming pool is missing.

Area recommendations
Sopot is only 30 minutes away by train from Gdansk and is a nice place to be at the sea side.
When to go
We went at the beginning of May and it was still quite cold: a bit later would have been warmer and maybe nicer.
Dining
The restaurant called Tawerna, near the river and the town centre, is delicious - highly recommended, especially for fish.

“Great breakfast, clean and modern hotel.”

Our stay at Qubus was excellent. It is a new, modern hotel with a wonderful breakfast buffet. The bathroom is small but functional and the bed is very comfortable. This is a very clean place. The walk to the main square is about two blocks and under the viaduct. The neighborhood of the hotel is nondescript but an easy enough walk to town. There were 2 computers with internet access free of charge and located in the basement which was very convenient. There are no hot pots or ice buckets in the room but you can always get one from the restaurant.

Area recommendations
Walk the beautiful main square or Dluga Street for restaurants, shopping, churches, amber museum and just all around beautiful buildings. 10 or 15 minutes walk from the main street is a Don't miss The Road to Freedom Exhibit which is an excellent presentation of the history of the Polish people's struggle for independence. After the exhibit walk to the monument to the fallen Shipyard Workers. Also take the 20 minute local train to Sopot on a sunny day to see the long pier and town.

“The best network of hotels in Poland”

All was so remarkable that it is impossible to allocate any detail. Tremendous comfort, an excellent breakfast, very obliging personnel. Affinity to the historical centre. I can not wait, when next time I will go to this hotel.

“Neat experience in Gdansk”

Very nice newly renowated hotel. The food was great, and the working personal friendly and tide. The only dissatisfaction came up from the parking lot, which was covered by ice (due to rainy weather), and it was extremely difficult to move around it to get to the front door. Despite that fact, we do like our stay there. I would recomend this hotel to my friends with no doubt about it.

Area recommendations
Old town. It has own sharm and many good places....
