“Go for it,,,”
I arrived in Hansa Hotel in Budapest after a long Travel day all the way From Arizona Via Frankfurt. Hotel check-in was quick and i was very happy from the Room assigned to me. Hotel Rooms are simple but very nice and clean. Breakfast is served in a very charming area in the Hotel basement in what looks to be a cave or wine cellar. it is unusual and friendly place. Breakfast itself was very adequate with some Typical Hungarian dishes that were very tasty. The Hotel Location can't be any better. Within a few minutes walk to the old city center and most attractions. No problem with the neighborhood. Budapest is very Lively into the wee hours of the night, lots of People around and a very good atmosphere. I travel all over Europe every year and stay in Simple to Luxury Hotels depends on the City and my needs. The Hansa Hotel was an excellent Place especially for the Money paid. almost a "steal" If you plan on Budapest,, Go for it.
“THE place to stay near Gdansk Old Town”
Great hotel - near the old town - exactly as comments had suggested. We had a really big room overlooking the canal - a bonus in Europe - although the hotel was nearly empty because who goes to northern Poland in December? At the end of our trip we reflected on the three places we'd stayed in Poland (Gdansk, Warsaw and Cracow) and concluded we'd do nothing different in Gdansk.
“Pyjamas folded every day!”
Your first impression of the Hanza Hotel may be unfortunate - dated architecture, slightly dull (brown) interior decor and a building site next door. However, do not let this put you off, because this hotel offers excellent service by delightful and helpful staff. On check-in we expressed our concern about the building work going on next door and the staff made sure that we had a room where we would not experience any disturbance. Although we did not have a view over Motlowa River, we did have a great view over the rooftops to the marvellous churches of St. Mary and St. John Church. It is situated in a great location, very close to the centre of the historic heart of the old City. Our room was cleaned and tidied every day, and the fact that my husband's pyjamas were left neatly folded each time caused untold delight.
“Cute, well appointed rooms, executive flair”
I would strongly sugget a blacony on the harbor side. Service inthe bar had a lot to be desired as was expensive.
“Excellent Hotel”
The Hanza has a wonderful location - our room overlooked the river. The room was very comfortable and certainly spacious enough. The staff at the front desk was very helpful in our request for information about rail schedules. Everything we wanted to see and do was within walking distance. I would love to return to Gdansk and would choose to stay at the Hanza again.
“Hanza and Gdansk-- both a thumbs up”
I enjoyed my stay at the Hanza while attending a conference in Gdansk and must say that Poland replaces the Czech Republik on my list of places to take my kids-- esp. Gdansk, though I hear that Krakow is great, too. Much less gimicky, touristy, very friendly people, felt safe, just very nice.
“Byens bedste hotel”
