“great fall motel”

Very couteous upon arriving and room was clean and comfortable, with straightned up daily with makingg of the bed and clean towels etc. Great area, close to roads we really enjoy during the fall season.

When to go
Any time in the Smoky mountains is a good time. Winter is probably hard to go to a lot of hiking trails and activities may not be as plentiful. But if you like snow it would be fun any time of year. I love the smoky mountains and expedia helped with my reserevations for Townsend Tennessee at the Ecno lodge. My husband and I had a wonderful time and very relaxed.
Getting around
roads are posted with a lot of signs, and anyone can help with directions or suggestions for the area information or directions. Shopping is mostly craft, or country type of merchandise, things you don't see everywhere, and about the wildlife. Lots of trails for hiking and activities for children in the smoky mountain visitor centers, lots of information about the area and videos to watch about the area. So many things to do and learn about.

“Will stay here again!”

We've stayed in Townsend before, but this hotel is by far the best in the area for your money. The breakfast is all carbs, but there is a great little restaurant nearby.

“I'll be back again and again!!!”

Really enjoyed our stay here as we visited the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The room was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. Can't say enough good about the quality of the room - microwave and decent size fridge in room. Front Desk was very nice and the entire process went very smoothly. The only negative thing I can say is the WiFi is more like dial-up speed - seriously, it was extremely slow. But it's not surprising given it's location and the amount of people staying there, etc. Might be better at off-peak times as I've found with a lot of other hotels.

“The Peaceful Side of the Smokies”

That is the slogan for Townsend Tennessee. We enjoyed being closer to Cades Cove, and avoiding all of the crowds that one must contend with at Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The free continental breakfast was not half bad. They even had waffles. The beds were extra comfy. That was a surprise to me for a budget priced hotel. If you want to come here to see the Smoky Mountains and bypass all of the tourists traps, this is the place you are looking for.

Area recommendations
This is a very small town. There are no bad neighborhoods. Everything is pretty much on the main highway through the middle of town.

“20 minutes from the crowds”

great place only issue was small parking lot,only single spaces .slight problem for my full size truck with 14 ft motorcycle trailer.

Traveller's tip
great starting point for some great mtorcycling roads without the tourist traffic.(but keep this a secret)
