Wonderful surprise off the beaten track

Posted 10-Sep-2014
Pros: See above
It was just a one night stay on a long journey south, and required somewhere near the A1 but not along side the A1. Arriving late in the evening, in the dark, the satnav set with the postcode, our fears rose that the satnav had lost it, when it sent us down a dark country un-signposted lane. Our fears disappeared when suddenly the sign Angel View Inn appeared in the headlights. Lovely welcome, large comfortable room, good sleep, curtains opened next morning to see the Angel of the North about 150 yards away. Good breakfast, with very friendly staff, including a resume of the creation of the Angel View Inn from old derelict barns. What a project that must have been and how impressive the final result. Will return and highly recommended.

Great place to overnight on a journey north

Posted 08-Jul-2014
Pros: Location, view of the Angel, convenience to A1, cost
Location: Angel is a dramatic, thoughtful sculpture
Right next to the Angel of the North and pretty much on the A1 this place is ideally located for a quick overnight stay for a long journey north / south and for getting a bit of culture in too. Rooms and the fixed price dinners offer great value

Angel through the window

Posted 01-Jul-2014
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Liked it so much we have booked 2 more stays. If it was anything like last time we will be booking more.
Cons: The wi if was difficult to connect to in our room and a stool for the dressing table would be useful. Struggling to think really.
Location: Nice location and easy to get to. Good bus links in to the toon.
Very nice hotel with a lovely clean and comfortable room with the angel in the window

Bed very uncomfortable

Posted 15-Jun-2014
Bed very hard, low quality bedding. Noisy floorboards and thin walls. Not a quiet hotel but food ok though waiter staff a little moody. Great location, which was really it's only saving grace.

Amazing view of Angel of the North, but no wifi

Posted 30-May-2014 on Hotels.com
Clean room, comfortable bed, brilliant view, very reasonable rate but spent ages connecting to the wifi to no avail. Unfortunately the staff said the office where the router is was locked and they did not have access so could not sort the wifi out... and it is a usual occurence. So if wifi's a must... be aware that Angel View Inn often have problems!

Gorgeous little hotel with a lovely view

Posted 26-May-2014
Pros: Location, view, staff are lovely!
Cons: The only thing I'd change is that at night they don't take cash so it all has to be paid for by the card tied to the room which can be a bit of a pain
Location: Angel of the North is a couple of minutes from the hotel so you can go for a walk round there, only 10 minutes from the metro centre
Me and two friends aged 20 and 21 stayed here for a friends 21st birthday, such a good location, really pretty and we even had a view of the Angel from our room which was lovely. It was only five or ten minutes to the metro centre and only cost us £8 for a taxi into Newcastle for a night out, no complaints at all!

Will stay here again

Posted 25-May-2014 on Hotels.com
Excellent hotel. Everything that was in the hotel seemed new or nearly new. Easy acess to the A1 and quiet location so a good nights sleep. The only negative thing that I can say about this hotel is that breakfast was a little slow as I was in a hurry. All I will do next time is allow more time for breakfast as this is only a small problem and has not put me off staying there again.
