Stayed here on a first visit to New York City with my daughter, for a week in early December. We needed a central location to facilitate sightseeing, Broadway trips, shopping. The hotel is very comfortable with easily adjusted heating and air con, and our twin room was reasonably spacious and well equipped with television and hot drinks machine. The double glazing cuts out street noise. Good hot shower and very comfortable beds. We were at the back and there was a great view of the Empire State Building from our room. The location is very central, 40th and Sixth Avenue, close to shops on Fifth Avenue and also close to Bryant Park which has a subway, giving access to a subway line up town to Broadway etc, and downtown to Greenwich Village; there is also a cross town line which interconnects with the Lexington line which goes up to the Museum Mile. This location and subway access made it really easy to do all the sightseeing, shopping and theatre we wanted to do.
We checked in at 1:30 am and Andre at the reception desk was incredible. He saw that we were tired and traveling with a child and expedited our check in. The free breakfast in the morning was great but could get a little crowded after 8:00. Rooms are very roomy and comfortable. We stayed in a studio suite with a few of the Empire State building. Pull out sofa for child was very handy. Overall excellent 4 nights for the holidays in this hotel!
We had the most wonderful stay at the Marriott Springhill and would highly recommend it. We had a lovely room on the 18th floor looking at the Empire State Building and our room was ready when we arrived on an early morning flight. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The location was great, we were able to walk to most of the big attractions without a problem. Having the morning breakfast included was a big plus and there was a good variety of items to choose from. We would certainly stay there again and highly recommend.
i would first like to mention Caroline and Yankee (front desk) for their superb service, Tommy (front desk supervisor) for his exceptional leadership that shows through his workers, and Sean (doorman/butler) for his excellent service! these people, together with the rest of the staff, have proven and supported the claim that Langham Place New York is indeed a Five Star establishmrnt that exceedingly compares to the St Regis and The Peninsula hotel!
We stayed in a 1 bedroom Family suite which boasts 1050 sq ft of space (very rare in NY). we were a family of 6 and it provided enough space without any problem. The suite was maintained by housekeeping for the entirety of our 5 day stay there. They had always been very particular of the cleanliness. Sparkling and still water, sodas and club sodas were complimentary and were always kept well stocked in our fridge. Thick glass windows kept our sanctuary quiet (although we were at the 24th floor so the busy street was at least half a mile below us). Beds and linens were heavenly by the way, which gives you comfort after a long day of walking and stolling down fifth avenue. Location is at its best. Fifth Avenue and 37th, close to everything!!!! 5 min walk to bryant park. 10 min walk to times square, and 10 min walk to rockefeller center. Yet, the classy location of this hotel takes you away from all the chaos of the places mentioned!
the staff have to be recognized for their exemplary customer service! They know and remember you :-)
