Coming from the US where the Best Western chain is seen as low-end, this was a fantastic surprise! Our original accommodation let us down, so we had to get a room ASAP via Expedia. This one came up and was pretty well priced and in the area we wanted.
When we arrived, we found it was literally around the corner from an up-and-coming trendy area of bars and restaurants. That said, it was also very quiet in the room - though if you wanted the sound of the city you just opened the large windows.
The decor was very odd - in a good way: from the grand-piano shaped check-in desk, to the collection of "Topo Gigio" puppets from the Ed Sullivan Show displayed under it made this a unique hotel. And after chatting with the staff, we learned that the Best Western chain in France is actually a collection of Boutique hotels - each with a different decor/theme.
Yes, the hotel and it's rooms were small - it is Europe after all. But it was quality. The bed was very large and comfy, the bathroom had ultra-modern fixtures and was spotless, and the room had air-conditioning that worked well (especially since we had unusually hot temps around 88!)
All in all, I would definitely stay here again, but also will try other Best Westerns in the future.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The staff speaks good English, it is located in a convenient location to Gare du Nord in addition to other attractions, and it is very clean. The rooms aren't large, but we weren't there to stay in the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel.
The staff and the hotel wast just amazing! I requested a room with a nice view and there was no problem to get it. Staff were very helpful and efficient, the place had all the facilities we needed. Great location only minutes away from Gare du Nord, easy access to pretty much everywhere. Will definitely come back :)
It's a nice building. The room was comfortable but the carpet has seen better days as part of the furniture. Nice bathroom. It was cool to have breakfast with a view on the station. Lovely buffet, helpful staff.
The Hotel was clean, the staff very helpful and even though it was a tens of metres from a large railway station we were never bothered by any noise at night. For a stay between train journeys or for an ideal location to explore Paris this is ideal.
I arrived to a big cocktail party at this boutique hotel which, by the way, is NOT IN THE MARAIS, but near it. They were, apparently, celebrating the "opening" of this hotel, which I thought had been running for a while. For those who like ultra-modern interior design highlighting ancient parts of the building's structure, this hotel gets A+. As a frequent traveler, though, it presented 2 problems that are all too common and all too annoying: (1) A weak WiFi signal, about which the hotel could do very little. Signal is fine if you want to use your laptop or smartphone while sitting on the toilet. (2) The infrastructure sacrifices structure for the sake of form. Why should it take 10 minutes to figure out how to turn on the shower or get the water hot?

Pocket Guide: Paris Gare du Nord - Gare de L'Est Hotels
This is an area of transit, with two mainline stations and a dozen Métro links. Gare du Nord is the terminus for Eurostar and trains to Charles de Gaulle Airport. The main sights are glass and fan museums and the 17th-century archways of St-Denis and St-Martin. Ethnic shops, markets and restaurants on Boulevard du Strasbourg and Passage Brady ('Little India') and lively cafés along Canal St-Martin make atmospheric diversions.
