Gripes

Posted 08-Nov-2014
No parking nearby made it difficult for my disabled sister, had to drop her off at hotel before finding space at multistorey car park- then reverse in morning. The restaurant does not open in the evening so had to eat elsewhere.

In a quiet corner of a lively city centre.

Pros: Location - in a quiet corner of a lively city centre, close to train and bus stations.
Location: Stroll along the harbour or Eyre Square, have a wee libation in the Skeff or enjoy the craic on Quay Street.
Pleasant staff, comfortable room and excellent breakfast.

Clean and reasonable hotel near Eyre Square

Posted 10-Oct-2014
We came in October and the receiving area was quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean with comfortable beds. We bought our Cliffs of Moher tour the next morning and the staff called the bus company to pick us up from the hotel. Our only frustration was the old room lock and key which made opening and closing the door such a hassle.

Close location to Galway activity

Close walking location, comfortable room. It was a very convenient location. A little noisy with so much street activity- but altogether a great stay.

The Victoria Hotel Galway IE

Posted 09-Sep-2014
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Close to all amenities - public transportation, historic venues, shopping, and entertainment.
The Victoria is a great value if you are looking for a hotel which is in easing walking distance of all the amenities which Galway has to offer. It is a very short walk from the busaras and the new coach station. The room we had was huge, very clean, and very comfortable. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was great. Although we didn't spend any time in the pub, we did peek in and everyone seemed to be having a lovely time.

Great location

The location of the hotel is absolutely fantastic. Couldn't be better really. The hotel itself is decent. The bathroom needed a bit of work and the beds weren't super comfortable but we are tourists that really just need a decent place to sleep.

Good location

A very practical location for those without a car. It is right downtown and everything is easily accessible from the hotel. We stayed there for 4 nights and were quite satisfied with it. However, the hotel is starting to need some work: the paint peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom and the hairdryer held together with tape that leaves your hand sticky for the rest of the day can't be considered a plus!
