Pros: Confort, accueil,situation

Very central location to local pubs and shopping

Posted 25-Feb-2015
Pros: Convenience and has parking for guests...a big plus in the city! Also, the room was large and staff was very friendly.
Cons: More parking available to guests. It seems that it may be on a first come/first serve bases. We lucked out though!
Location: Lots of restaurants, pubs and shopping in town. Very clean, walking city.
We only spent one night in Galway and most of it was sleeping. The hotel is very close to the all the action in downtown Galway but just far enough away from most of the noise. We did hear some rowdy college kids outside but we were told that it was a party night and there was much activity all around. It didn't keep us up though. We faced the street so perhaps a rear-facing room may be quieter...again was not a problem for us. The bed was very comfortable and bathroom was clean. Room was big with a non-working fireplace. Very well kept and the breakfast at the hotel was very good.

Well located for Galway city-centre.

Pros: Central location and car-park.
Cons: Decor just needs refreshing and servicing; so that curtains don't come adrift when pulled.
Location: Galway is a fabulous place for wee shops and restaurants. Also very convenient for Cliffs of Moher and The Burren.
The hotel needs refreshing. Decor a little tired in places. Breakfast was fine; but a little more cheer from the staff would have made a better start to the day. We chose two nights in Galway, and one in Limerick. On reflection, the other way around would have been better.

The hotel is fine for a night or two at the right price. Basic accommodation but hotel was quiet and we slept ok.

We were at a wedding in galway and decided to stay at the Western hotel. From the outside the hotel looked run down.Inside it was not much better, it needs to be updated. Staff were not the friendliest especially at breakfast.
