beautiful city hotel that underdelivets

Posted 27-Jul-2015
Our stay was bare minimum 2 star experience. Old rooms, scratches, dirty carpets and overall lain dirty. Sad as the building and location is prime. Staff was not helpful and breakfast was less then other bed and breakfast we had on our trip. Please renovate and take better care of hotel and your guests.

Convenient location

Posted 27-Jul-2015
Pros: The location is good and the hotel has free underground parking.
Cons: The bed was hard and sagging.
Location: The hotel is close to Eyre Square.
We visited Galway for three days on vacation and took bus trips to Connemara and the Cliffs of Moher.

Nice hotel with large rooms

Great location if you want to be in walking distance of the Galway night life. Rooms were large and parking on site. Staff made a few errors but overall helpful.

Pros: Location and helpful staff
Location: Close to restaurants and pedestrian shopping center
We had a lovely time during our stay. The staff were helpful and always at the ready to assist us. The hotel was charming, close to the center of town and very clean. Loved the fresh flowers in the lobby and in the halls. We would highly recommend to anyone for a enjoyable stay.

Great Location- Got an upgrade

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Pros: The location is great, and if you are in the apartments, they are spacious and have a great view of the city.
Cons: The front desk service. After asking for a dinner reservation and them not helping too much, we really didn't feel like asking them for much more.
The Western hotel was great. When we checked in, we received a complimentary upgrade to one of the apartments which was great. The apartments had a kitchen and 2 rooms which was great since we each got our own room and was able to save some money by cooking breakfast every morning. The one improvement would be the staff. We asked for help to make a dinner reservation and the lady dialed the number and then handed us the phone (since the restaurant didn't pick up, we ended up walking to the restaurant and making the reservation our self). It was a bit disappointing cause other hotels usually call for you and will follow-up if the restaurant doesn't pick up on your behalf. Other than that, the hotel was fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone.

Very convenient location.

Posted 27-Jun-2015
Pros: Location, staff
Cons: Needs a few updates here and there, but clean and comfortable.
Location: Everything you want to do in Galway city is within walking distance. Bus and train also close by.
The hotel itself is a bit worn. However, the location and great staff make up for that. The bed was comfortable and the room is kept clean. The front desk staff is very knowledgeable and helpful in planning tours in and around Galway. the neighborhood is safe and very close to everything. Bus and train stations are within easy walking distance. The breakfast is good and reasonably priced. I had dinner one night in the restaurant and everything was delicious.

The room was very spacious but warm. Only air movement was to open a window.Otherwise within walking distance of a lot of amenities and the train station.
