Not what you see in the photo

Posted 03-Sep-2014
Pros: The bar staff was very pleasant.
Cons: The meal service in the restaurant was terrible. I waited at my table for two hours to only to end up having the soup.
Location: I can not fault the location for my visit.
The hotel was okay, but the photos in the expedia ad did not match the outside or décor of the hotel.

city break position of hotel good

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Cons: cleanliness. the inside of the bedroom windows were filthy as were the outside which i can understand. There was no toilet brush in the bathroom.
the hotel was average certainly not 4star. Parking was a nightmare. Breakfast was a mediocre affair certainly there could have been a lot of improvements in that department. The rating at the most is 3 star and should be priced accordingly.

Parking not so good. Seedy part of town. Stayed in the apartment part of the hotel and I don't think they were done refurbishing it.

Top class hotel

Posted 25-Jul-2014
Pros: Clean.Comfi,and location
Cons: Better directions to Hotel car park ( drove around 3 times looking for signs to car park ) asked at hotel reception in the end for directions.
I originaly booked into another hotel, but after reading reviews i decided to change( glad i did) the Western Hotel was just what i required, close to centre, very clean & comfi plus staff very helpful & polite. Had a evening meal in resturant which was really good value & they had live irish music in the bar later on which finished off a good night. I would recommend this Hotel anytime.

Galway Hotel

Posted 15-Jul-2014
Pros: The included breakfast excellent and generous. Cold buffet as well as hot dishes to made to order.
Cons: No safe available, no toiletries avalable
Location: location not attractive but near Eire Square and within walking distance of some restaurants Pubs with traditional music a cab ride away
Room is very simply furnished. Hotel located at top of hill, so walking there from town center can be problem

Loud hot hotel a half mile from city

Posted 14-Jul-2014
I travel every week all over the world. This hotel is set on a curvy road and led to 2 full night of insomnia even with ear plugs due to traffic noise. In addition, the rooms are tiny and no air con or fan so it was quite uncomfortable.

Much lighter on the budget for a good sized private room.
