“boutique hotel with unexpected luxuries and great service”
Did not expect this when we arrived at our hotel! Upscale boutique hotel in the middle of a small town, we did not expect the ambiance and great accomodations! arriving in your room and receiving a personal note and a sweet goodie after hours of travel was really nice. we had an unexpected studio apartment with a living room and kitchen, really great bathroom as well with mood lighting. walk down the street to the ocean and have the greatest freshly caught seafood diner, walk across the street and have your origninal irish stew in a 200 year old pub! True spectacular Ireland at its best!!!
“Excellent food, service and rooms.. must know it's outside Galway by a 15 min. cab/bus”
We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel .. every amenity and customer service is top notch. The drawbacks are 1) some rooms on a busy road(bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper) and 2)have to accept a taxi or bus fare in and out of Galway center. Truly lovely and enjoyable and worth the fares if you know that beforehand. Nice views of ocean nearby, great food both in the hotel restaurants and across the street in a local colorful pub. Not for someone who wants to be in the heart of the city. We did take a day trip to the Aran islands and the bus driver did stop right outside to pick us up so that is a tip to save one of the fares. There is a bus that goes to Barna from Galway, the buses were fine alternatives to cab fares. The suite for three was perfectly suited with a small sink/microwave space. Highly enjoyable. Go to the Galway tourist office first and find the daytrip times and then relax in Barna and enjoy Ireland at it's best.
“Great hidden gem”
All that a traveler can ask for. Great service and very quiet rooms. Food was very good and location just outside or Galway was great.
“Excellent”
Very good hotel. Swish but clean and nice. The staff were very friendly and gave you tips for the local area.
“Excellent hotel”
I loved this hotel. It is quiet, convenient for trips (into Galway or to the Aran Islands) with a car and well run.
“Spacious”
I enjoyed this hotel. The bar and breakfast room were lovely. We had a suite with 2 separate rooms and both had loads of room. The hotel is right on a main road however so with the windows open there is street noise. There are options for eating outside of the hotel in the small town of Barna. Pleasant staff.
“Great hotel outside of Galway”
I was worried when I booked a hotel outside of Galway, but this worked out great. It was a 10 minute drive from Galway and wonderful place to stay. The suite had plenty of room for our family of 4 and the breakfasts were great.
“PLEASANT STAY”
This was the first hotel we stayed at on our visit and we were very pleased with the hotel and the service
“Fantastic find and very accessible to Galway”
The Twelve ended up being a WONDERFUL find. The staff was excellent; the bar and restaurants were excellent, and the location was great. I really was glad to have found it and as a seasoned traveler who likes amenities and getting a great room at a bargain price, I have to say that The Twelve is one of the best rooms I've stayed in for the price I paid. I enthusiastically recommend it!
“Best service & attention to detail!”
Although we only stayed one night we had a lovely experience at this Hotel. Every member of staff we encountered was polite, courteous and could not do enough to help. There was plenty of under cover parking. The room was larger than expected and the bathroom toiletries were lovely local seaweed products. A knock at our door late afternoon produced a plate of fresh strawberries in chocolate, homemade shortbread and truffles - they went lovely with the fine tea and real coffee available in the room. The room had a mini-bar, ironing facilities and 'mood' lighting in the bathroom. Breakfast was gorgeous with a good choice. I recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again!
