“Good spot to sleep outside of Galway and convenient to Burren and Cliffs”

We used our Android phone and the Google Maps driving directions app to direct us from the city of Galway to the hotel. After parking the car down below we took the elevator up to check in. The hotel seemed quite new with bar and even a casino though we didn't bother to event walk inside during this weekend trip. The room was comfortable but like other reviewers stated, the shower stall (if you can call it that) was impractical at best. The handicapped accessible shower had no curtain and with a somewhat slow drain, quickly flooded the bathroom floor. We had to take a shower at very low pressure. The breakfast was just OK - standard budget hotel stuff - and offered few healthy options (OK cereal is healthy but only full fat milk to pour on top). During the night with the windows open (we were above the lobby area) we could hear people outside, as they were either getting fresh air from the casino or grabbing a smoke. As for location we were pleasantly surprised that a convenience store and several pubs and restaurants were within walking distance, as well as a minor castle just a short stroll away. The location was perfect for doing The Burren drive down to the Cliffs Of Moher and the price was right.

Getting around
To avoid much of the tour bus traffic driving this scenic area, leave by 9am and drive first through the Burren (plenty of stop-offs in towns and ruins and unique landscapes). Eat lunch before driving through Doolin and onto the Cliffs of Moher in the early-mid afternoon. Stop in Ennis for dinner before heading back on the highway to to Galway and the hotel.

“bugs in bed”

bugs in bed they moved us to a bug free room but it's hard to get over that.food fair at best

“Modern decor”

Hotel provided multi outlet extension cord I needed due to few number of electrical outlets. Hotel does not provide face cloths for washing. The shower had a fixed panel in place of a door. Hotel provided a good hot breakfast buffet.

“Clean comfortable - perfect for a short stay”

The Ramada Encore is in a great location centrally in Oranmore. Great value for the price and the rooms are spotlessly clean with good basic facilities. Perfect for a short stay. Great traditional historic pub nearby 'the thatch'. My friends stayed in two hotels in Oranmore and we all agreed this hotel was more comfortable, yet half the price. Staff are helpful and friendly too. Would recommend.
