Quiet and relaxing

Posted 15-Jan-2015
Pros: Food, ambience, ecor, easy parking, extremely comfortable rooms
Cons: Staff could be more customer focussed. Reception staff - waken up. Corridors very dark....its a bit like walking into Hollister, u wish u had a torch!
Location: Handy location for where i needed to go. Not much nearby though.
Heating was on in the room this time on arrival so it wasnt like an igloo as it was last time. The beds in this hotel are the most comfortable beds (and pillows) that I have ever slept on. Cocktails are fab though pricey. Had dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent. The shrimp bruschetta with hollandaise sauce was to die for. Glass of vino 9.50 euro though.....Staff were very attentive at first and then i waited and waited and waited for the bill then waited and waited and waited for someone to take the payment. Same next day for lunch in lounge. I had booked a table for a business lunch only to be told on arrival that the restaurant didnt open for lunch and they must have booked a table in the "lounge" for me?? Hello, I wanted a quiet comfortable lunch without a gaggle or ladies who lunch giggling over our shoulders. Anyway, the food was again great in the lounge. Menu a bit limited though. Staff arevery pleasant but not very attentive once you have been served your food.

Lacks attention to detail to deserve 5star rating

Posted 10-Dec-2014
Pros: Food and staff excellent
Cons: Housekeeping and central heating. Corridors were warmer than the rooms
Location: Galway a lovely city.
Three night stay this month. Given an upgrade mainly because our room was not ready. Room fine but lack of attention by housekeeping let whole hotel down. Our room had not been serviced by 4pm on day 2 and had to complain. No mini bar unless made by prior arrangement. Plenty of wardrobe spec no hangers. Dirty glasses not removed. Rooms very cold had request a radiator.. Hotel could be very good if only housekeeping could be improved. Very disappointed

Fabulous hotel.

Posted 15-Nov-2014
Pros: Beds and decor
Cons: Heat room up especially when a guest phones to say she will be arriving late.
Location: d/n
Arrived late at night and was disappointed that my room was really cold, though the curtains had been drawn and two lovely iced cakes were set out on the coffee table. Check in was very quick, as was check out. Breakfast in room was perfect (8Euro tray charge). Underground parking- lost of space. Amazingly stylish lounge areas. rooms are beautifully finished.

when we initially drove up to this spot, we were thrown off that it was in an American looking shopping mall. After a beautiful day in the irish countryside, a hotel in a mall was a huge disappointment. However, once we got inside we could not be happier. Truly a cool, luxury hotel with amazing comfortable and luxurious rooms. Take a cab to Eyre Square and don't look toward the mall and you will enjoy.

A nice escape

Cons: For such a nice place, they could invest in better pillows!
Really great romantic getaway. Took advantage of thermal suites. Very nice.

I felt the "5* hype" on their website overstates the actual facilities. The hotel is smack in the middle of a shopping precinct, with many of the bedrooms overlooking a car-park. The noise from the function rooms downstairs could be clearly heard throughout the property.

Pros: Not much
Cons: Everything
The hotel reminded me of the casino lobby's in Las Vegas. Over the top with bright colors. The hallways were dark and dank. Would not stay here again

Lovely hotel with good food, little pricey though....€6 for a bottle of water seems expensive to me. Still had a nice time there.
