Nice place out of city.

Pros: Our room was very nice and had AC. I heard not all rooms did. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The pub and restaurant were very nice but slow.
Cons: WiFi connection. Free coffee in the lobby. Plug in for hair dryer in the bathroom.
Location: It's remote on the edge of town on the hill. The promenade is a decent walk. City Center is a long walk. There is nothing but houses near by.
My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights while I was in Galway on business. We wished we were closer to the city center. It's a long walk. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The WiFi didn't work for a couple days which was a big deal to me since I was trying to work from the hotel. They didn't seem too concerned until I told them we were moving out if they didn't fix it. Irish customer service isn't quite like we are used to in the US, but we noticed that everywhere. I loved the coffee, but had to go to the bar and buy a small cup if I wanted some. Again, don't expect a Starbucks drive through. Overall nice place to spend a few days on a retreat with a spa and health club. It's a little more like going to a resort in the US.

Near Galway with pool

Posted 22-Jul-2014
It was great everything was perfect. If I had one tiny knit pick it would be when I was checking in and out at reception the girl continued to answer the phone and deal with other people while already starting our transaction then mid way keeping me waiting for up to 10minutes. There was other staff standing nearby doing nothing so it seemed strange one staff was not sea dictated to phone queries. Thanks

Lost in the shuffle

The hotel mistakenly canceled our reservation, forcing us to stay at another hotel. The breakfast is mediocre. Overall, the hotel is overpriced and a bit old. We were moderately disappointed.

Hotel was bright and pretty in a very pleasant central location.however, the bedrooms are sprawled over the place. Bed linen was antiquated and pillows were like a rock. quality of service was good.breakfast was fresh and tasty.

We thought the staff were excellent and the food was great. The room was very outdated. It needs a lot of attention. Bed was most uncomfortable.

Pros: Location
This is a very old hotel that has been nicely renovated but is still deficient. The layout is very confusing and the hallways are so narrow we had trouble pulling our bags to our room. The room was not air-conditioned, which would not have been a problem since it was cool outside and we could open a window. However, our room was near the kitchen and the noise outside was quite loud. Even when we closed the window, the noise was so loud it kept us up until after midnight. I would avoid this hotel.
