Family Room

Posted 08-Sep-2014
Pros: Anne was very pleasant & the common areas looked inviting. Breakfast smelled delicious, but we could not take advantage of it as we had previous plans
Cons: Family room is really cramped. Not sure how it can be reconfigured to accommodate more than 3 people.
Location: We arrived late at night and left early morning for an event we had planned.
We booked three days at Rusheen Bay House in the Family Room with views of the bay. We arrived late for check-in but called before so that we would be assured of a room. Anne was extremely pleasant and accommodated our late arrival. When I booked the room, I stated that it was for our family of four and I am pretty sure that I mentioned we had 2 adult daughters. The room was very cramped - even if we had two young children. There was no place to put our luggage or a dresser to empty the belongings into. Long story short, we left after one night, as we would have been at each other's throats in such close quarters for three days. Anne was very understanding and relisted the two remaining nights, but charged us for the second night as it was short notice and was not rented - which I agreed upon, as I didn't want to argue for the fee.

Nice BB. Beautiful view of Galway Bay.

This was such a clean B B. Anne was very helpful in places to see. I would recommend this as it was quiet and within walking distance of busy Salthill.

Between the rocks and the coast

Posted 29-May-2014
Pros: Spacious, clean, welcoming. A good choice at breakfast time with friendly staff. Great setting between the rocks and the coast.
Location: Lots of good places to eat in Ballyvaughan, we did some great walks and looked at the amazing flowers on the Burren.
Very welcoming owner and large bedroom with great views across to Galway bay. Kettle and tea facilities are downstairs in the dining room, not in the bedroom. No TV in the bedroom (again, there is one downstairs) was a Great Bonus for me, a rare treat! We watched the magnificent sunset across the bay instead.

Pros: If you want "Boutique" style 5 star accommodation then look no further!!
Cons: Very little ....... just some very small very minor detail which I have already relayed to the Proprietor.
Location: Galway city is very close at hand where you will enjoy the very best of Irish food in many Restaurants or you also have the Galway Golf Course at hand
The proprietor of the B&B is a lovely lady and very warm, welcoming and friendly. If you want "Boutique" style 5 star accommodation then look no further!! Beautiful individual style rooms, kitted out to a very high standard. Her breakfast was a typically Irish style breakfast but for those who want a more healthier breakfast then you are also catered for. The Customer Service was outstanding. Highly recommend to other potential guests ....... 5 star accommodation and very reasonable rates. You will certainly joy and the views from the B&B are outstanding. We have a Fox Terrier dog called Barney (taller version of a Jack Russell) and he was made very welcome. There is one room to cater for a well behaved dog so you need to ensure this is this case so that you do not disturb other guests in the accommodation which is paramount. Also, be aware the proprietor has 3 stray cats whom she has rescued, called Freddie, Zooloo & Sophie. They are well cared for and well loved cats. I am not a cat lover (in actual fact hate cats) but I must say I fell in love with Freddie as he is quite a character, the other two kept very much to themselves. I hope from the above commentary, you will automatically book your stay at Rushdeen. You will not be disappointed!!! Enjoy Irish hospitality at it's best.

Salthill B&B

Posted 30-Sep-2013
Pros: Fresh and clean! Food was good.
Cons: Shelf space in bathroom.
Location: Quiet although near the coast road. 5 minute drive to major restaurant area in Salthill.
Spent 1 night at Rusheen Bay House - Kathy was our host and very gracious and kind. The house was nicely located, overlooking the water. Quiet at night. Our only disappointment was that the house was a little further from restaurants than we would have liked - but an easy drive. Wifi available in rooms.

Rusheen Bay

I needed a bed only for a night out in Monroe's The Rusheen was perfect. Nice place, good value, walking distance to Salthill but a taxi will be needed if you're going into the city. Very clean room with nice view of the bay, friendly staff...would recommend.
