The Hotel was a little out of the way from Galway, but worth the trip. We were greeted and offered ice tea upon check in. They had two delicious cookies from the bakery in our room with birthday wishes written on the plate. Informative with directions and places to visit.
A very comfortable B&B handily located a few metres down the Claddaghduff turn-off on the N59, 5mins north of Clifden heading towards Westport. John and Sue are very helpful with local knowledge, hints and tips. Can even sell you reduced price tix for Inishbofin ferry and Kylemore Abbey! John is an expert deep sea fisherman and Sue dishes up some lovely rhubarb to complement a very comprehensive, appetising and fulfilling breakfast. The scenic Sky Road drive begins (or ends) within 100yds of Sharamore too, recommended for a scoot just before sunset. A great place to stay if you're visiting this area.
The hotel is set in a beautiful location and the view from our bedroom was spectacular. The staff were extremely
friendly, helpful and most efficient. Breakfast was fabulous - all you could wish for, from full cooked to lighter
varieties. Clifden is a small but busy town with some lovely bars and restaurants. All types of music with a
leaning towards Irish, which we loved. The scenery is spectacular in the area and we highly recommend a visit
to the Connemara National Park for some great walks and, again, very friendly helpful staff.
After dinner, we would return to the hotel ( if not dining in ) and join the guests in the bar for a night of music,
supplied by the very able variety of pianists for a sing-song. A great atmosphere, which is what you expect with
Great spacious and clean rooms, Freddy is outstanding and a great guy to talk with and a truly world class B & B with a breakfast to die for. Only slight negative is its located a little far from the downtwon area ( about 3 miles - 40 minute walk). We took taxi's for about 12 Euro's so not bad.

From our window we could look out over stone walls to the Atlantic Ocean. The food and the graciousness of the staff were better than 5 star. There is much ruggedly beautiful scenery in the area. The other guests were interesting and friendly.
