Superb location, and cheap!

Posted 28-Dec-2014
Rooms have been redecorated and were very comfortable. Also parking next door, which cost just €10 for 24 hours. We were told that the water was going to be turned off between 11pm and 5am for maintenance work, which would have been very inconvenient. However, it never occurred. Will stay here again when we visit this wonderful city.

Very pleasant. Great view of river. Wonderful location - convenient walk to many things. Bed for two people was too small.

Really nice hotel for business or fun. Free internet. Perfect location in the old part of Galway. Parking next door. The room was a good size and in good condition. The hotel staff was very helpful. I'd stay there again.

weekend break

Pros: good location
Cons: the friendless of the front of house staff and more information given to customers
Location: it is a good location near the main shopping a social amenities
it is a good hotel to stay in and a good location. dont stay in rooms 306 or 307 as they are over the carpark gates which are noisy. the staff are ok , not the most friendly and never heard of a hotel running out of beer on a monday evening. no atmosphere in the bar.

Pros: the location
Cons: Rooms on the first floor get street noise from the nearby bars
Location: Good location near a fun area
The rooms are a bit small and the rooms on the first floor can be loud from street noise. It was difficult to move heavy luggage from the parking garage into the hotel; however, since the hotel does not run the garage it is not really the fault of the hotel. Overall good location and nice rooms.

Nice Chain hotel near nightlife

Over all I would recommend Jurys, however if you want quaint Irish charm in your lodging choose a B & B. If you want an American type hotel near all that is Galway Choose Jurys Inn. The location is excellent for dining and pubs on Quay street. (pronounced "key Street" BTW) Eyre Square and Galway Bay are just a short walk. The accommodations were adequate and the staff were pleasant and helpful with our requests. If you have a car, the car park is right next door. As stated in other reviews is is a very tight space. The quoted price for parking for hotel guests is 10 euro/day but we were charged much less for the entire week. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant is good with all you would expect of an Irish breakfast. The restaurant does not seem to be used for dinner much and we only saw it open once with no diners. With all the dining choices a short walk away on Quay Street I can understand why. The only substandard service we received the entire week was in the bar for dinner the first night when we were too tired to deal with the crowds. The young gentleman (bartender) completely ignored us while serving three tables around us. Not sure why, but I finally said to my wife "can you see me?" and went up to the bar to order. The hotel manager then brought us our food a short time later.
