Averagely decent hotel 2km from the city

Pros: close to galway city nice views over Galway bay
Cons: House keeping and a bit of decorating wouldn't go amiss
Location: Galway is one of the most welcoming cities in the world, close to world heritage sites like the Arran Islands, great restaurants, pubs and people
Arrived quite late on Tues16th mar, just before 10pm. had rung a day or two before to confirm my late arrival no substantial food available. but was suggested a sandwich, with was freshly made and well presented, cutlery was not clean but it was easily washed in my bathroom,, was tired after 9hrs of travel got up next morning to use the bathroom facilities noticed a hair on the toilet , not mine (wrong colour) not from a head either after i got dressed went to reception talked to receptionist, she was shocked, offered me a room change and breakfast neither did i take as it was only a two night stay and was not really hungry, just asked the room to be cleaned,she was suggested i speak to the duty manager upon my return, Arrived back around 3pm told reception i would freshen up and then speak to duty manager, duly did so, answer was room has been deep cleaned and house keeping girl has been told to clean rooms better.. manager just didn't seem to care nothing was offered to me as an apology not even the 5,50 Euro for my sandwich, i did say i might have dinner, nothing was offered not even a free wine,,,i think as the room was paid for in advance they didn't really care, i did return to the room and had a very good look around. it was not clean,,,,room not vacuumed , marks on the walls and finger marks on the ceiling damp on the walls, light fittings loose and room i got did not match brochure at all i was really upset it ruined my visit home for Saint Patrick's day

Pros: Locatio, - ease of access and ample parking facilities.

Dated hotel room would not stay here again

Cons: The room we stayed in needs complete renovation/updating
The hotel room was dated and in my view never updated since the hotel opened. The room was not value for money. The reception and resturant areas where clean and of an average standard. I would not pay this price again to stay in this hotel. The photos of the hotel on the website gives no resemblance to what they actual are.

Mature Couple with medical appointments

We were in Galway for a number of early morning hospital appointments. Location ideal. Arrived fairly late but despite late hour and severe dietry restrictions our server in the bar managed to feed us well. Hotel recently refurbished. We frequently use this hotel and will use it again.
