we enjoyed our stay and found the location very good with easy access to Galway by bus in front of the hotel. The staff was very cordial and helpful and the breakfast was very good except the "orange juice" was questionable

Does the job for short stay...

Posted 13-Apr-2015 on Hotels
We arrived about 9.30pm for a one-night stay, were greeted nicely, and checked in fine. Our room was ok, comfy beds, there was a leak by the window but that didn't really bother us. We went down to the bar knowing the restaurant closed at 9pm, however the website AND the in-room hotel guide claimed there was room service 24-hour so we thought we might get something. The room service menu mentioned paninis, wraps, buregrs, etc. But when we got to the bar we were told all they could do was ham sandwiches or pizza's, while offering us a menu for a local take away. We eventually ordered a pizza even though we didnt really fancy it but it was beautiful...great crispy base and fresh toppings - pity they're advertising leads people astray, the main reason we booked this hotel at short notice was the website said 24-hour room service as we knew we'd arrive late. When we retired to the room just after 11pm we found there was no electricity!! So 2 calls to reception and a replaced fuse later we had power!! Ok hotel, does the job and handy to get to from Dublin, with free parking too but wouldn't pay more then about 70euro as there's better in Galway.

Little gem in the heart of Galway

Posted 29-Mar-2015
Pros: everything from staff, rooms, bar, restaurant, all was perfect
Cons: just the heat in the bedroom turn down slightly
Location: Eyre's Sguare has restaurants, bars and plenty of shopping
From the minute we arrived at reception to checking out 2 days later i must say we both could not fault . The friendly way the reception staff greeted us was great, we got to our room no 200 on the 2nd floor and my god we thought it was lovely especially the effect of having a mirror to mirror effect was fab facing each other.only down side of the rooms they were a little too warm although the radiator didn't seem to be on and we both don't like a very warm bedroom. The bar staff and restaurant staff were excellent, very chatty but knew when to chat. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff even wished us a happy anniversary nice touch. The night porters were very friendly came and chatted to us while we listened to the nightly music in the bar. i will definitely go to Flannery's again and will recommend it to every i know.Bus stop into Eyer's square just across the road if you didn't want to walk the mile or so into town.
