Nice hotel

Posted 16-Sep-2014
Pros: helpful staff, reasonably priced, clean
Location: not too many items near by regarding restaurants but there was a grocery store & a small cafe that served breakfast & lunch right across the street.
Hotel staff were very helpful...got us a mini fridge for the room, called to set up a tour for us to the Aran Islands, rushed & got us coffees to go one morning when we were running late. I do wish the breakfast was included in the stay but it was 10 Euros/person. It wasn't downtown in Galway but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel plus we had a car so it wasn't a huge issue. Hotel was right off the highway which made it easy to find and there was a grocery store and bank right across the street which was convenient.

Good hotel but very busy location.

Enjoyed our stay. Clean and comfortable room with all usual facilities, except a 'fridge, which we asked for on arrival and which waas eventually provided the following evening after a further request. Convenient for Galway town centre - 10 mins. drive. Silly designer wash hand basin and tap, which was totally impractical and gave a spray of water all over the room, mirror and user however gently it was turned on. It might have looked good, but the designer had never tried using it. Didn't use restaurant, so no comment on food. Directly opposite a shopping centre which was handy for odd items.

It's like sleeping beside a race track

Posted 11-Jun-2014
Pros: The food at breakfast was decent.
Cons: Charge much less for those rooms facing the highway. I felt ripped off in what I paid.
Location: It is located approximately 4.5 kms from the centre of Galway and, unless you have a car, it will cost you 12-14 Euros one-way. Busy highway nearby.
This hotel is definitely not a 4- or even 3-star facility. Half of the hotel faces a major motor way. The car traffic is constant and noisy. By North American or Australian standards, it is nothing more than a glorified motel. Galway is a great town to visit, but I would not recommend staying at this hotel unless you have a car and book a room facing away from the motor way. Even at that, it is too expensive for what you get.

Third time to stay, this time in an executive room

Posted 08-Jun-2014
Stayed here a few times before and always liked the hotel. Recently stayed in the Executive room which was gorgeous, the bathroom being the highlight. Had a meal in the bar which was nice, and the bar and serving staff were so nice. Thought the reception staff could be a little more perky and pleasing to see you, as you are their customers. Would recommend as it is a very nice modern hotel which with gorgeous rooms.

Excellent hotel but far out from city

Posted 07-Jun-2014
Pros: Cleanliness, comfortable bed and room, bistro and bar.
Cons: More signposts to it
Location: Found the location challenging to find each time we went in or out of Galway. We enjoyed Galway and the lovely Connemara Coast etc.
We enjoyed our 4 day break at the hotel but it is expensive when breakfast not included in the price quoted. The hotel was much further out from Galway than we expected and the surroundings were very industrial and unlandscaped. It was a nightmare to actually find it. Cleanliness was tip top and the bed was very comfortable. The Bistro was excellent for food and catered very well for me as I am coeliac. Staff very courteous and friendly. This hotel is more for business people and weddings etc. Not much atmosphere or the Irish experience for holidaymakers.
