Everything was great....bed was crazy comfy...breakfast was abundant and delicious...staff was friendly. The only mark against it was the stringent rules in the pool/leisure areas. Otherwise great!

Beautiful hotel .

Posted 08-Oct-2014
Pros: The excellent service and the beautiful clean, fresh room was second to none.
Cons: The remote control for the TV caused some difficulties and perhaps a hair dryer might be handy for the traveller.
Location: Close to the city centre. I had reason to drive into town and was there in less than 10 mins in traffic. I did not avail of amenities close by.
I stayed in this hotel for one night recently and it's a pity that I couldnt have stayed longer! I booked into the hotel early in the afternoon leaving me with the opportunity to avail of the peace and quiet of my room for a while before heading out. On my return I ordered some beautiful food to be delivered to my room from the Bistro downstairs. The service was very quick and efficient and the food delicious. I booked in on a room only basis and got an excellent deal through Expedia. I opted to buy a quick coffee and croissant the following morning before checking out. In my room I noticed a locked door which I assume could lead you to the room next door. I must look into this next time we visit Galway as a family.

Very Very Poor Breakfast

Posted 07-Oct-2014
Pros: The rooms and the facilities within the hotel was good, along with the location
Cons: Nothing
Location: Visit the city and the race course.
I was hugely disappointed that when we went down for Breakfast and being told we had to pay 10 Euros each for this even though the cost of the room I would have expected this to be included, and having traveled lots with work and pleasure this is normally included. The breakfast was so poor that I refused to eat this as the bacon was burnt beyond sight and the rest of the food was so dry and cold which made this uneatable.

Breakfast was really disappointing :/

Considering the price and hotel calibre, the breakfast really let it down. Expected more.

Nice/Convenient Hotel Near Dublin Airport

Posted 04-Oct-2014
Pros: Shuttle service to the airport, proximity to car rentals, in-house restaurant
The hotel is close to the airport and easy to get to. Our room was very clean although the mattress on the bed was lumpy. The hotel was quiet even though it's close by the airport. The restaurant was clean and comfortable but the meals are pricey. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

Clayton Hotel

Posted 27-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
Online ratings and pictures set a certain expectation which was not met. Guest rating was 4.x when we booked the room. Gnats were present in the bathroom, ceiling and baseboards were cracking severely in multiple locations, stains on carpet and drapery, and hand prints on glass door.

Nice, comfortable hotel

Posted 18-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
We really enjoyed our stay in the hotel. The beds in the hotel are extremely comfortable and the bathroom was clean and well maintained. We ate on one of the days in the bar and thought that the service and food was very good. I couldnt get the wifi to work on my phone but if im honest i didnt try very hard. The location was handy for us as we had a car and picked it as we planned on touring around, but if you were looking for someplace to stay that was central for going out in Galway, it probably isnt the best location. A small complaint is that the pay-per-view movies were not available despite being listed as an available service.

Nice hotel

Posted 16-Sep-2014
Pros: helpful staff, reasonably priced, clean
Location: not too many items near by regarding restaurants but there was a grocery store & a small cafe that served breakfast & lunch right across the street.
Hotel staff were very helpful...got us a mini fridge for the room, called to set up a tour for us to the Aran Islands, rushed & got us coffees to go one morning when we were running late. I do wish the breakfast was included in the stay but it was 10 Euros/person. It wasn't downtown in Galway but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel plus we had a car so it wasn't a huge issue. Hotel was right off the highway which made it easy to find and there was a grocery store and bank right across the street which was convenient.
