“not impressed.”
The room was dirty, floor hadn't been swept in a while. Dresser was broken, and looked like it had been found in the dump. The first room they gave me hadn't been cleaned at all.
“About what I expected for the price”
Location was good because I was seeing old friends. Only problem with the room was a leaking water line to the toilet which partially flooded the bathroom during the night. Front desk the next morning promptly contacted handyman, so I guess it got fixed. We didn't try the breakfast but it looked like stand fare continental but it did offer hot waffles right off the iron. All and all I can't really say anything bad or truely exceptiionally good. It was a basic OK hotel for a night or two while on the road. Staff was ok but not what I would call outstanding. I would stay again if on a road trip.
“Never go back again. Needs to be rated a half-star.”
Rating needs to be reduced!! Not close too anything!
“Pungent aroma pool area”
The room located in pool area smelled of urine, the entire pool area smelled this way. There was also dust bunnies noticeable behind the night stand which sat between the two double beds and away from the wall. I found the accommodations unacceptable, but on the positive side the beding appeared clean, the mattress felt comfortable (I sat on the bed to make my call to the desk r/t to my dissatisfaction), and the night clerk that checked me in was polite. I did not sleep there due to the other concerns I initially stated. I have stayed in LaQuinta hotels in the past this is the first time I ever ran into this problem. This room had no amenities i.e. Microwave or Refrigerator despite what was advertised by Expedia or requested by me upon securing the room.
“Not bad for the price!”
Recently, my family and I stayed in 2 rooms at LaQuinta, Texas City for a mini-vaca to Galveston's Moody Gardens. The rooms were nice and clean. They were non-smoking rooms, however, they had a musty/mildewy odor. A little room freshener and we were fine. The restroom/bathroom was smaller than we would have liked, but it served it's purpose and was pretty clean. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows had to go! I stayed at a 5-star hotel in Indiana the week before and their pillows were horrible, too, so it isn't only a 2 1/2 star hotel issue! Overall, enjoyed our stay, the kids had a good time in the swimming pool which was fairly clean considering the number of people that were using it, and their continental breakfast was very filling!
“not a good experience at all”
My family and I stayed there to go to Schlitterbahn and I booked two doubles. When I checked in they only had 1 double and 1 King so we had 2 take it. I took the room with the doubles and all four kids had to room with me due to them being out of doubles. My fridge was dirty and my phne did not work. No HBO- so the channels were limted to a few basic channels. The breakfast sucks. No meat nor eggs.
“Need Update”
Hotel was okay, just stuck in the 80's, no modern features at all
“Very good customer service”
My husband and I usually look for La Qunita Inns to stay in as they are usually good places to stay at reasonable prices. This time was no exception. The 1st room we were put in did have a problem w/one of the lights near the bed. When we called the front desk - the night manager not only immediately told us we could have a different room but he personally came and gave us keys to the new room and took back the old ones. We were very impressed. Will definately stay at this hotel in the future.
“It was cheap and if I had to stay more than one night I would not!”
The hotel was fair priced but not fancy by any stretch! The location is just Ok. I did not get what I thought I was paying for.
“La Quinta in Texas City”
The beauty of the La Quinta chain is that they are consistently clean and well maintained and this hotel was no exception. The staff was friendly as I've come to expect. La Quinta is a known quantity, unlike booking at some of the other budget chains, and is a true bargain. Recommended if staying near Galveston, Texas.
