We decided on a weekend getaway to Houston and were pleasantly surprised by the affordability of the hotels compared to New Orleans. We had a wonderful time and the hotel was beautiful! We will definitely be back. If you are looking for something fun to do with children the aquarium and zoo were a hit with our 2 year old. The zoo was the best I have ever been to. I was so happy that the hotel had cribs/pack n plays on hand. I called guest services and had one in our room within 10 mins. My son was so excited to receive a "I am a Sonesta Kid" shirt in the pack n play. That was a nice surprise. Overall, we had a great experience.
Great place, awesome service. Place is huge. Pools you need to walk to get there.
Rooms are (as expected) pretty nice, close to the Galleria, shopping, eating places. Check in quick, corteous, neat. I mean all works smooth in this place. Quiet, it is quiet although place was packed (2 weddings) night was so quiet. I love the place, plan to return. There is a charge for self or valet parking (again as expected for the area) just consider that and don't let it sour your stay during check out, I always park myself to avoid charges, here I valet, took advantage of it and just relax.
We had a nice stay in a 1-bedroom. We were there with the two kids for a week. The staff was very helpful and kind. It did seem however that something was lacking a bit in the backend of the hotel. Some requests, such as laundry, just simply didn't seem to get done. Also, the 1-bedroom unit was just too tight. Once the pull out couch was opened for the kids, there was absolutely no room to move around in the main part of the room. As well, the bedroom part was lacking space.
The unit was extremely spacious and was more like an apartment than a hotel. Very nice and great views. My only complaint is that the room was hot. I finally discovered that the air filter was completely covered in dirt and had probably not been changed in a long time. I removed the filter and it cooled off better.
From the minute I stepped into the St. Regis there was an arora of excellence and class. The service was impeccable, the rooms were beautiful, and the food delicious. I felt pampered from the beginning to the end of my stay.
If you can’t buy it at The Galleria, it’s not made. One of America’s largest shopping centers, The Galleria has roughly 400 stores. Its lowest level features an ice-skating rink, a welcome spot during Houston’s torrid summers. Next door, the beacon of the 64-story Williams Tower serves as compass point for the sprawling city. Nearby, partygoers head for the Richmond Strip’s bars and clubs.
