So many good things I can't begin to express how incredible it was... Staff is equal to a 5 star hotel... They upgraded our room free of charge... They showed us over the marina, etc etc etc I mean their attentions to us are endless... Only problem was wifi was down but they are working on fixing it... So I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in Antigua. Just remember to rent a car so you can explore the island easier...

We found this gem of a place while searching the web from the airport....what a wonderful surprise! We were welcomed by the owner's Feona's son Colin his lovely wife and cute little grandson CJ.....the location is so beautiful and picturesque......a private beach with a view of the mountains and Falmouth harbour so fantastic....we highly recommend....we will be back.
I was at the Carlisle Bay about 3 weeks ago and am sadly just getting the time to write a review now. Too bad the great relaxation I felt at the Carlisle Bay didn’t last a long time since it was a wonderful experience. I had made a last minute booking to the resort for some much needed R&R and got exactly that. Simply put, the resort is extremely relaxing……gorgeous bay, beautiful beach, OUTSTANDING service, caring staff, delicious food, luxurious room (I stayed in an Ocean view room on the 3rd floor which had a wonderful view). From the second you arrive in the serene lobby area (which is lovely because it does not have that normal industrial hotel lobby feel), you are treated to a great experience. It is clear that they try to improve all aspects of your stay and strive to keep the resort at a very high standard. I had traveled on my own, and felt very safe and well taken care of by an attentive staff (I miss breakfast on the balcony!). I had booked the tennis week and was thoroughly impressed with the tennis coach Ken. He is a great trainer!! The tennis week came with a massage which was fine. The spa area needs soft background music or such since the outside noise can be heard in the massage room. Nevertheless, I would still give the Carlisle Bay a 5. It truly was a relaxing and beautiful resort!
Staff is far beyond any other resort ever stayed at. Owner pays great attention to your needs and requirements. Beach is the cleanest ever been too. Food is second to none, not your typical resort food. Rooms extra clean compared to other resorts we have been too. From the time you are picked up at the airport to the time you are returned everyone is focused on your desires. Have been here twice and will return many more times.

Having never been to the Caribbean before I was really excited by the prospect of travelling to Antigua, especially as this was a surprise holiday I had booked for my girlfriend.
The Sugar Ridge hotel was nothing short of fantastic; the staff and services were excellent and the hotel was well kept and set in a beautiful surroundings. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the staff who could not have been more helpful (when we arrived we were greeted with a fruit punch - no rum alas - which was a lovely touch on a warm day) and they really made the stay special. The rooms are brilliant and the views of Jolly Harbour and the Caribbean could have come from a post card.
I cannot really find any fault at all as will probably be demonstrated below. Life is set at a slower pace so if you come to the hotel looking for activities and adventure you would be best to travel out around the island (you are on holiday after all) although some staff do organise local tours which I am told (by other guests) were excellent. Also this is very much an adults/couples hotel and I do not know if I would necessarily recommend this for a family with young children as the facilities are not really there to keep younger children entertained. The pool is also quite snug so bear this in mind if you are hoping to use it for exercise (although the gym was very well equipped).
Both hotel restaurants are very good although I would recommend trying restaurants outside of the hotel as well
