"A Great Place for Independent and Gay Travellers"
For independent and gay travellers, Eklektik Guest House is a great place to stay. Located in the lively, modern section of Istanbul, Eklektik has a friendly, knowledgable staff, who were always eager to serve. They prepared plentiful, excellent breakfasts , consisting of a variety of cheeses, jams and jelly, bread, coffee, figs, olives, tomatoes and cucumbers and freshly squeezed orange juice. More than enough food to get you started in the morning.
During our stay, half the guests were straight and half were gay. This created a warm and comfortable environment where you could be yourself. The staff was very open and progressive.
The hotel is a ten minute walk (up a steep hill) from the funicular. The funicular goes to the main bridge connecting the new section of Istanbul to the old section, where the major monuments are located.
The hotel is close to restaurants, bars and clubs along Istiklal Caddesi, the major commercial and entertainment thoroughfare in Istanbul. If you plan to go out at night, you would want to stay near Istiklal Caddesi. Eklektik Guest House may be the place for you.
