“Anniversary weekend”

Great service, very friendly staff who couldnt do enough for you. Lovely location overlooking the bay with great leisure facilities. Food is good but would tend to be over-elaborate with too many flavours. Breakfast is excellent. The bar could have a better location with perhaps a view but botherwise good. Wait for a deal as it is really too expensive otherwise.

“All one could wish for”

My wife and i stayed for four nights combining a wedding to which we had been invited with seeing some of the surrounding countryside. The hotel could not be faulted in any respect both in terms of location (overlooking, in fact virtually on the edge of,Galway Bay),facilities (swimming pool, games room, etc), spacious rooms and first class restaurant and bar. The service was impeccable, always very courteous and helpful.

“Good location and great hotel”

Very large well-equipped hotel with large rooms and good levels of comfort. Food good and plenty of choice. Enjoyed pool and sauna etc. Piped piano music produces rather hushed old-fashoined atmosphere, but otherwise a great place to stay. Good sea views from rooms!

“Extremely enjoyable”

We had a great view of the coast from our room. Lovely inside: dining and breakfast rooms; second level reading areas w/coastal views; inside & outside hot tubs, warm swimming pool. Friendly staff. Very relaxing place to stay and enjoy the Connemara Coast. (As most places in Ireland, swim caps are required for men & women.)

“Satisfactory”

This hotel was good. Had great views of the ocean. If i had to do it over again though, I probably would have stayed at one of the many small B&Bs along the coast as they would have the same views for a much better value.

“Excellent Food”

Good food, good prices, but whatch for them telling you breakfast isnt included in the price even if you have paid for breakfast. Stand your ground, other than that first class.

“comfortable hotel but not luxurious!”

Nice clean hotel that was basic but comfortable. however, we were expecting a SPA hotel experience and this it was not. Basic leisure centre with small pool and steam/sauna rooms. I had a facial in a treatment room that was like a broom cupboard and lacked ambiance. Treatment was ok but nothing out of this world. There was also no real relaxation room to wait around for your treatment just a couch outside treatment room - again lacked the ambient spa experience. Staff were very helpful and friendly and this was probably the best thing about the hotel as well as the lovely view of Galway Bay from our room! If your looking for a luxurious Spa hotel break i would consider elsewhere. if your looking basic comfortable hotel with nice staff and good bar food that is close to Galway city, then this is perfect!
