We arrived at Holiday Inn after seeing the poor quality of our first booking. Holiday Inn staff were friendly, helpful and fun. The room was large, clean, with a great view of the harbor/river. We stayed first two nights on sixth floor. Due to a large group of kids coming in on the third day, the staff offered to move us to the ninth floor to avoid any problems due to activity on the sixth floor (which there were none) We thought that very nice and professionally smart of the staff. The hotel is located right where we wanted to be for walking around the town and seeing the sites of Portland. We would absolutely stay again at Holiday Inn Portland.
first of all, try finding as hotel room in portland maine. they are rare. i booked a room at the regency specifically for a tub because i was exhausted from a long period of overtime work with no breaks and sometimes you just need to soak and get drunk in portland. so i did. and it was awesome and they provided terrycloth bathrobes, too, just like the olden days when hotels cared. the staff was helpful with all my requests, there was turndown service with chocolates (waaaat?!!?!? this ain't no knight's inn!) the valet parking was prompt and helpful with various inquiries for directions and he cleaned all the snow off my car. next time i stay there there i plan to take advantage of the spa aspect and get a massage or six. y'know, for research purposes.
oh, and she pretty, too!
Me and 4 girlfriends were doing a over night for shopping in area-hotel very clean and tastefully decorated. Valet was very helpful and check in was easy. We enjoyed dinner at Sebago Brewing Co. Beds were extra comfortable. We also enjoyed the yummy breakfast-helpers were extra friendly.
We will definitely be returning in the future

I had a wonderful experience at this inn, which was available and affordable during busy season. The Inn is cozy, beautifully appointed, and the parking convenient. My room was up on top, with very many stairs to climb,, and I had a private hall bath. I couldn't have been happier, even with the slightly too-far-to-walk to downtown location, because I was so comfortable in my room when I did retire from exploring the downtown.area.
We stayed here just as a stop on a roadtrip. They'd had a flash floor and there was considerable flood damage to the lobby level that was under repair. The upper levels were fine though, our room was clean and very comfortable, there was no renovation noise. The WiFi was free and the staff were lovely. Would definitely recommend this.
