“A Gem Lost in the Mountains of Lombardy”

I sought a hotel with 10 miles of Lecco. It was - as the crow flies! But it was about 50 miles by road. And what a road, the last 20 miles from Bergamo being narrow, winding and twisting impossibly, and always up, up and higher up. But the instructions were good - just keep following the signs to Fuipiano Valle Imagna - and ultimately there we were. During the crazy climb we thought that we had made a big mistake in choosing this place, but once we arrived we considered it one of the highlights of our vacation. Stefano, who runs the place, is an ace, and his dad, who is the chef, whips up a mean meal. Stefano speaks excellent English. If you are into mountain walking, or serious sight-seeing, or just want an idyllic place close to the heavens and far from the frenzied world down below, then this is the place for you.

“Beautiful food”

I would say you would definately need a car - as long as you are a confident driving! we found that driving around was one of the best parts! Gorgeous scenery and beautiful food at the hotel! Although the hotel is set up in the mountains we struggled to find routes to walk on so i would suggest you research this before you leave as we didnt and didnt really know what was private land and what wasn't! Altogether though if you want a holiday with gorgeous scenery and good food then this is the place for you!!!

“This place won me over in the end!”

I had my doubts when I first arrived... it took forever to get there by car, and the hotel didn't strike me as modern or comfortable. The room seemed a bit small, and the TV was tiny. But when we got settled in and we realised how hospitable the owner and his family were, we ended up loving the place. The owners seemed to do whatever was required to keep customers happy - they certainly work hard. They prepared food for us very late in the evening when we arrived, and it was very tasty. They also prepared a 'picnic' breakfast for us because we had to leave before normal serving times on our last day. All in all, we were very happy with the place and we were sad to go.

“Exceeds expectations”

This is a country inn with an unassuming style which offers good quality accommodation and food. Fuipiano is a quiet village at the head of Valle Imagna, reached by fairly narrow and winding roads - 30km and about 50 minutes from Bergamo. There are excellent views. The proprietors/staff are friendly and welcoming - how nice for once to find truly hospitable people in the hospitality business! The hotel and restaurant offer very good value for money.

très bel hotel, acceuil chaleureux, cuisine extraordinaire, prix très raisonables. prévoir 1h30 entre les grands axes et l'hotel (route en culdesac) mais quel calme et quels paysages.

“super sejour!!!”

super hotel très agreable, la nourriture du resto du fait maison délicieux!! rien a redire!! l'hotel est juste un peu loin pour les déplacement mais les petits villages aux environs sont sympa pour se promener L'ideal c'est de louer une voiture pour pouvoir se déplacer

“Dés qu'on peut on y retourne”

Hôtel super, accueil amical, Stéphano est super sympa, toute l'équipe aussi. Les chambres sont belles, propres et confortables. La cuisine familiale et de qualité. Le sul petit bémol : un peu perdu dans la montagne mais quand on y est on y est bien, au calme et dans une ambiance familiale.

“Charmant hotel et personnel exceptionnel”

Petit hotel de Montagne sans prétention, au tarif abordable, géré par peu de personnes dont Stefano qui font un boulot remarquable. Restauration locale au top également.

“Vorbildlich”

Obwohl wir sehr spät ankamen (23:15) wurden wir erwartet und herzlich begrüßt. Der Chef persönlich hat uns dann noch eine köstliche Mahlzeit bereitet, obwohl zu dieser Stunde die Küche längst geschlossen hatte. Der Service war herzlich und persönlich, die Küche ausgezeichnet. Einziges (kleines) Manko: die Zimmer sind recht hellhörig. Fazit: Wir waren sicher nicht das letzte Mal in diesem Hotel
