Spent 4 nights in Ghent in May 2014 for a fiftieth birthday celebration.Travelled via Eurostar and train to the beautiful city of Ghent. If you want to be emerged in european history but still like to eat and drink well Ghent could be for you.Found that there is little or no English translation even on menu's. As in most european countries found that nearly everyone was able to translate the Flemish, Dutch or german in english for us. A great relaxing city break.Numerous places to eat make your way to the tourist information and pick up Restro Ghent leaflet which will give you a place to start.Would recommend T" Vosken by the cathedral for good quality and reasonable priced food ( the beef stew and fish stew where exceptional ). If you want a steak the place to go is Du Prgress by St.Nicholas church the two person T Bone was immense, better like your stark rare though.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Harmony for one night during a three-city weekend trip in Belgium. The room here was the best out of the three hotels in which we stayed in during trip. I chose the Executive Double Room when I booked because it was not much more than the price of a standard double. We were surprised at what we got. It is a two level room with a kitchen, living room, and upstairs loft where the bed and bathroom are located. Much more space than we needed but it was nice to be able to sit on the couch in the living room for a couple hours break before heading out to dinner.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and of a typical European style with cold cut meats, cheeses, and pastries. The bar served free tapas in the evening so it was a good place to get some appetizers and a drink before heading out to dinner.
Hotel Harmony is located right on the canal in Ghent so all of the sites and a lot of restaurants and bars are all within walking distance. There is a municipal parking garage about a five minute walk away which costs 11 euro per day if you don't want to pay for the hotel parking.

The room suite on the top floor was excellent and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good too. The only problem we had, was that we were there with our teenage kids and they got the good single beds that make a double and we were on a sofa bed on the floor, which wasn't very comfortable. There was enough room to put a double bed in there, and that would be our recommendation. I know it was only for one night, but you are in bed for about 8 hours and the bed is the most important feature in a hotel.

The hotel was in the perfect location for us to explore Ghent, being central to all the sights and sounds. We were going to Brugge for the day and the staff were very helpful in finding train times and informing us when and where to catch them. We travel to Ghent regularly and this has been the best experience so far, highly recommended.
This is a super hotel for tourists. It is close to the centre of Ghent yet in a quiet street. Trams and buses are close by. The staff are helpful and friendly and the rooms are comfortable. The Continental Breakfast is wholesome.

We looked for somewhere in the centre of Ghent with good access to all the main attractions. This hotel ticked all the right boxes for comfort and facilities. There is said to be limited chargeable parking but a prior phone call to hotel provided a reserved space for the duration of our stay.
