Hotel renovations were in process, but overall there was no difficulty maneuvering through.

Welcoming staff in temporary office while new updated one is being created and finished. Process was quick. Room is a little dated looking but clean and hotel is in a convenient area close to stores, restaurants and a gateway to Yosemite!

Perfectly pleasant inn in Fresno

Posted 22-Jan-2015
Location: Big box retailers just down the street in case you forgot something
Stayed here 1 night on our way down to Death Valley. The hotel was perfectly pleasant, although they were doing construction on their front office. Room was large and comfortable. Hot complimentary breakfast was great. Conveniently located to big box retailers down the street.

Plastic or Glass

Posted 19-Jan-2015
Pros: Clean, Comfortable, Save, Convenient
Cons: Provide real glasses in the room and pre-heat rooms that are already rented for the night.
The hotel is not brand new, but it was extra clean, the towels and sheets were super soft, and felt very safe. There was a Keurig in the room. If I had known I would have taken my own favorite flavor, but the flavors provided were quite nice. The room was probably about 60 degrees when we arrived and it took about an hour to get up to 70 degrees, but after it got up there, it was consistent and comfortable. My ONLY real complaint was the paper-thin plastic cups which almost doubled over on themselves when filled with a drink. I asked if I could borrow 2 real glasses from the restaurant but was denied. I have stayed at 2 start motels before that had real glasses in the room. It is too bad that they took such a hard line on this topic. I wish they would have charged the people who stole the glasses in the past rather than decide to compromise an otherwise exceptional room. I went a couple of blocks down the road to TJ Max and bought a set of glasses. I DO recommend this establishment, but BYOG (Bring Your Own Glasses.) LOL

Dungeon

Posted 11-Jan-2015
First off this place looks very cute on the outside. The problems arrived at check in they said our reservation wasn't ready because I booked threw Expedia! So I waited an hour at 930 at night to check in. After I returned to check in for the second time they told me I needed a 50 dollar deposit being exhausted I asked if they took cash and offers to leave more then 50 and she refused so I had to run to the bank. Once I returned once more I was finally ready to check in. Enters the hotel I terror is very plain nothing fancy. U winded and went to turn on the air because it was so hot we were sweating and it didn't work we called the front desk and they said the room only had heat so we had to change rooms at 11 at night I was done at that point

Good location in Fresno CA

Posted 11-Jan-2015
Pros: Nice breakfast buffet!
Cons: The front desk area was being remodeled, so improvements are being made.
Location: Easy access to shopping and dining
The rooms are in a cluster of buildings which are all ground level. Each building houses about 10 rooms and they are named after famous golf courses. "Spy Glass" etc.

Disappointed

Posted 07-Jan-2015
Pros: The size of the room and business ammenities--except for the unusable Internet service.
Cons: The INTERNET SERVICE for sure.
Location: There are a lot of shopping centers and many, many restaurants nearby... everything from Denny's to the Spaghetti Factory.
On my first visit to the Picadilly Shaw, it went to the top of my list with their huge farmers' style free buffet breakfast in the morning, the huge room with two queen size beds, and a desk, plus a round table, and all. SO this visit I took my wife and granddaughter with me on a business trip to cover the historic groundbreaking ceremony for the California high speed rail choo choo train. Their Internet is hard to get on and super slow. At night, I was unable to get on it at all. The front desk said there was nothing they could do about it because it was probably due to the volume of traffic from other guests. As a result, I failed to get an important request from my publisher to interview a local Fresno politician and was unable to transmit anything, so I will not be able to stay at this motel again. Then the breakfast was still a buffet breakfast, but the scrambled eggs were dry and cold and my wife was very unimpressed, and told me never to rave about anything again. I was told that the restaurant pub, Olliver's, has a new owner. The dinner menu has changed. I was disappointed they didn't have the great Philly Cheesesteak sandwich I enjoyed on my previous trip, but the pastrami sandwich was excellent. The motel also wanted to charge me for using a conference room for one hour to do a video interview with two local farmers. I ended up using the motel room, just thankful I wasn't interviewing some young girls, and having to ask them to come to my motel room!

Nice, just not updated rooms, the price was right

Posted 30-Dec-2014
Pros: Everything is fine
Cons: a microwave would be nice
Location: Lots of restaurants a short drive to the west. you can walk across the street to a small Italian restaurant.
The price compared to the other new hotel in the area made this a good deal and my wife and I plan to stay again when we visit family. First, the rooms are all one story buildings. No one above or below you. We stayed in the back where it was completely quiet, no road noise. The rooms are dated and the water pressure was low (fine for my shower, slow to fill tub for my wife. The bar is nice and the surrounding patio. The bed was good, small fridge, no microwave. Breakfast came with the room and was good if you like the basics and better than the Best Western when we stay at one. They have eggs, sausage, potatoes, real cream for a good coffee is big for me. Nice coffee maker in the room. The room we had had a king bed and it was big enough to fit two king beds. On the outside of the bath there is a good size vanity area open to the room with a stool. Wifi and updated TV. Good hot tub.

New Experience

Posted 27-Dec-2014
Pros: Convenience, cleanliness and full breakfast!
Cons: Was a little nervous about the "Cleaning Deposit" charged against my credit card at check in. Still waiting for the refund to show up.
Location: We were there for a family event so didn't get out at all to explore.
This was the first time we have stayed at a Piccadilly and we were very pleasantly surprised. Everything including the full breakfast was was wonderful. Most motels/hotels only offer a continental breakfast.
