Fresno

Posted 16-Dec-2014
The room was larger than average...more room should be dedicated to the bathroom...stay in the bungalow rooms...you won't get as much noise from fellow travelers...for a couple of extra bucks...probably worth it

an overnight

Posted 07-Dec-2014
Pros: The rate was a bargain.
Cons: While we had air circulation, we could not cool the temperature and had to open wide both windows,
Location: A large Macys/Penneys-anchored shopping mall is to the east; just a bit further is Cal State Fresno.
A sprawling hotel complex on a major east west thoroughfare, our room on the second floor was satisfactory.

Just OK

Posted 02-Dec-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Major renovation
This hotel has been ridden hard and put away wet. They desperately need to renovate. Probably won't stay there again until they do.

Do not stay at this hotel that is more like motel

Posted 29-Nov-2014
Worst hotel experience I've ever had. Room had no AC. Hotel cranked up the heater in the halls and nearly sweated us out of our rooms. Woudn't turn off heater even when requested. When we arrived and were given out keys we had to wait outside of our room with our two year old because our keys didn't work. On our second night stay. Our keys wouldn't work and we had to wait outside in the cold for hotel staff to remake us another set of keys because our set was only programmed for one night not for two. Hotel staff apparently has no idea of what protocol is nor do they know how to make clusters happy after making them mad. Also, even if you have do not disturb on your door, housekeeping still knocks and yells "house keeping"

Nice hotel with a long-standing reputation

Posted 29-Nov-2014
Pros: It's long-standing reputation, it's quality and excellent staff.
Cons: They might slowly up-grade some of their plumbing, especially their toilets. I've had faulty flush valves a few times.
Location: The locations are very central to the area and near "everything" that one might need!!!
When I return to Fresno after having lived and worked in Fresno, I would never stay anywhere else. They are indeed a quality and classy place with key locations. I would not stay anywhere else!!

Old "theme" hotel that's been upgraded

Posted 24-Nov-2014
A long time ago, it seemed every type of business was "themed" - not just restaurants like Outback Steakhouse with its fake Aussie shtick, but motels, car washes, carpet showrooms - it's like everyone thought they needed to make their business a Disney attraction. Here and there you find one of these still in business. Piccadilly Inn is one of those, it's a big Victorian England-themed motel. The different buildings have names like "Camelot", the restaurant is named "Oliver's" (from Oliver Twist, get it?), the lights on the walkways look like Victorian gaslamps, etc. Piccadilly Inn has been upgraded but the rooms are basically the same - we had a space heater on one wall to heat the room and the ceiling was sparkly/bumpy. The bathroom was new, the furniture in the room was new, there's a flat-screen TV, and because it was all built years ago, the room itself was a bit larger than the rooms they build now. The staff is pleasant and polite. There were a few negatives...the wifi existed and took a password...but that's all I can say about it. Logging on didn't work and I gave up. They have a Keurig coffee maker in the room, which is nice, but when we asked for another pod of tea, they wanted $1.00 for it. An advantage is that most of the buildings are one or two story, and spread out, and we got a room far in the back away from the street, so it was quiet.

Disappointing rooms

Posted 22-Nov-2014
Hotel looks nice from the outside, but the room cleanliness was "third world". There was a cockroach in the bathroom upon check-in, gross!! Wallpaper peeling inside bathroom. Vents were full of dust. Someone knocked on my door at 1am. Experience was just nasty all around!

Nice room. Clean & roomy. Nice staff.

Posted 19-Nov-2014
Pros: Size of the room
Cons: Can't think of anything
Location: There for shopping and everything we needed was close by.
In town on a shopping trip. The room was roomy and clean. Liked that the tub and toilet was separate from the vanity area. Check-in was handled by a very nice and friendly staff member who made sure we had everything we needed.
