“Be safe. Stay inside your room.”

Next to an inner city casino, but near City Hall and police, the streets and the underground hotel parking are rife with drug addicts and alcoholics. Security is lacking and our night was interrupted by vagrants trying to gain access to rooms on the fifth floor, having gained access to the hotel using the elevators from the unguarded underground parking. Service is virtually non-existent. Restaurant is closed except for a meager breakfast. The "skylight room" on the top floor looks nice on the website, but is closed, probably due to lack of guests. For your own protection, stay inside your room.

“This Holiday Inn needs improvement”

The room itself was pretty nice but the outside not so much. We went outside looking for a place to eat but neighborhood did not feel safe so we decided to go back and order room service. My wife’s dish which was supposed to be a chicken pasta bake had no chicken at all. We called and were told the chef would “own up to it” and another dish would come up. They did bring another dish after another long wait. However, they did try to remedy the situation by giving us a free desert which was nice. The dishes were left out side our door as suggested by the room service. The next morning we were kind of surprise to see the dishes still there. We spend a long and hot day at Yosemite and by the afternoon all we wanted was to shower and rest. Finding parking was horrible. We got to our room and dishes were still by our door. Once inside, we heard what seemed like a music band rehearsing. It must have been around 7pm. We called front desk and were told they were sorry but a party was going on the floor above us (Floor 9) and music would be going on until midnight. So do not stay in the 8th floor unless you want to listen to “wedding music” all night. Needless to say, we were not able to rest and it was a really long evening. We left the room Sunday morning and of course dishes were still outside our door. We like the Holiday Inn but will definitely look for another place if we ever come back to Fresno.

“Noisy Hotel”

There's a bus depot across the street so if you're placed in a street side room, you can expect to hear loud buses all night long. In addition, if you're placed in a room next to the elevators, you can expect to hear a loud ding every time someone reaches your floor - all night long. The lobby is nice and I enjoyed the flat screen tv, but the noise level did now allow a restful visit.

“Clean, but NOISY!!”

We stayed at the Holiday Inn while visiting family for Thanksgiving. I was 9mo pregnant and wanted a relaxing visit. The front desk took 30min to check us in though we had booked a week prior and confirmed 2x. The room was clean, bed very comfortable however relaxing was near impossible. The doors are heavy and slam shaking the walls. At 7:30-8am the maids began cleaning on our floor and slammed the doors every 5 min for 2hrs. They would yell at each other from down the hall constantly. Not many amenities. We stayed out as much as possible!!!

“This is an old hotel that is showing its age”

Food and staff were very good. The A/C didn't work very well in the rooms or the loby, bar, resturant. Fans were used in the common areas, but no fans for the rooms.

“Would not recommend this hotel”

We had a late check in the first night so we decided to order room service, we arrived on a Monday. There were 2 of us, we got 1 set of silverware and they forgot to send my husband's salad. We called and it took them 20 additional minutes to get us a salad and silverware. Then it was rather warm in our room (75 degrees) so maintence came to try to adjust the AC but was somewhat successful and gave us a fan. It wasn't unbearable but I expect the AC to work when I pay for a hotel room. So Tuesday night we got back to our room around 7pm to still find our room service tray on the floor right where we left it Tuesday morning. Every time we left our room we had to go down to the front desk for them to give us a new room key because it only seemed to open the door once. Needless to say there were many angry customers complaining about the AC problem that was obviously a problem Monday night and was still a problem in our room since the AC never got cooler than 75.4 degrees. We checked out Wednesday morning to still find our room service tray was still by the door. Spend the extra money and stay somewhere else!!

“Not Impressed”

The air conditioning wasn't working. I called the front desk and told them of the situation. They said they would be sending in their 'engineer.' Fresno around July is super HOT and the rooms without air conditioning are an oven. An hour later the so called engineer shows up and fixes it. However, the lowest temperature the air conditioning would go to is 65F. So, for the room to completely cool down that took another 1 hour. By that time the room was finally cool down, it was time for me to leave for the conference. Would not recommend this place for anyone to stay at.

“Hot, loud, and dirty”

Upon check-in the bathroom was disgusting..black hair all over from previous resident. Air conditioning did not work, hotel did not provide satisfactory resolution, said nothing they could do until the following day. Someone down the hall was having a party with many guests in the room and overflowing into the hallway after midnight. The front desk was notified and nothing was done. In a 4 day trip got about 8 hours of sleep in total between the heat and noise.

“nightmare at the holiday inn...never stay here”

saturday night was a nightmare. wrestling team was running amok on on 5th floor. my husband called the front desk, but nobody came up to quiet these boys.these boys tried to get in the room...my husband went out into the hall at least 3 times to get those boys to shut up. this was going on from 9pm tp 12 midnight. finally at midnight my husband talked to the hotel manager and complained. midnight hotel security finally appeared to shut these boys up. the hotel allowed children to be these rooms unsupervised. this situation was totally mismanaged !!! we are never going back there ever again.worst hotel stay i have ever had

“BEWARE”

Parking is NOT free as stated in hotel amenities. There is a casino next door and busloads of people (100+) arrived to stay at hotel. All night long doors were slamming and loud talking in hallway. Management did nothing to quiet down the noise, told me that they were just getting settled in their rooms. Elevators are dirty, parking garage unsafe, food is over priced, hallways are unkempt and worn. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone.
