“Lucaya's best Hotel”

I've visited Grand Bahama since 1989 and stayed in many places. Pelican Bay is the nicest hotel on GBI. I miss the activity that Freeport was once famous. The Bahamian Government seems to be directing tourism to Nassau as many places have closed and not reopened over the years. Pelican Bay and the new direct flights on Vision Airways make Port Lucaya a nice, quick, warm getaway but the excitement of vacationing there has been lost.

I am probably too young to recall the good ole days, but I have certainly heard of them quite often and I trust that the island will return to it's well known status of being an exciting destination. At the moment, many steps are being taken to provide visitors such as yourself with a myriad selection of experiences that appeal to many different tastes! “Off-season trip”

Was there in the off-season for business trip. Nice quiet surroundings. Easy access to restaurants, bars, and shopping.

“Better indeed”

The true test of a resort hotel is when you go during the off-season, there's no guests there, and you still get fresh friendly service. I know Grand Bahama and I wouldn't recommend anywhere else to stay there.

For adventure, explore eastern end of island. see vast empty beaches and little native villages. also safer than most locales.

“Average will return”

Very private atmosphere, the air-condition noisy had to turn it off and used the ceiling fan.

“Loved, loved Pelican Bay and the Bahamas!!! Will be back soon!”

My flight arrived early so I got the hotel about 12:30 p.m.; my room was ready--no problem!! The girl at the front desk (Thomasina) was pleasant, friendly and gave me two free bahama mamas, and I needed them! The room was large and clean, a little dated, but comfortable. It had a nice balcony with a beautiful view of the water--with boats going up and down the channel all day! I had breakfast included in my package--and it was hot and delicious every day! I'm already planning my return--can't wait. Will definitely return to Pelican Bay and will definitely use Expedia to book my trip!!!

Port Lucaya area is wonderful, safe and everything you need is right there - from fine restaurant to local bars and restaurants. Beautiful beach and casino is there, as well as a lot of night life.

Outdoors or beach

The hotel provides a shuttle (comes 10 on the hour until 11 p.m.) to a beautiful, beautiful beach called Taino Beach -- there's a nice restaurant on the beach a long with other facilities.
