“Great Vacation”

This hotel is off the beaten path but my boyfriend and I had a great time! The hotel staff is extremely nice and helpful and the hotel food was good!! The hotel provided transportation to the beach, town, airport and any activity we wanted to do. The view was beautiful, right out to the channel, the sun came up through our balcony window! Bed was a little rough and the pool was cold but really other than that we had a great time! Loved staying here!

The market was great for shopping. We also attended the weekly fish fry on Wednesday. Plan to spend a day at the Garden of the Groves too!!

“Nice Place, Clean, Everything Works, Just a bit "old"”

First class attitude from everyone from owner to the room service staff. Clean, neat and everything worked. Hotel is a bit old, but as stated everything is well maintained and works and after all, most of the time spent in the room is sleeping or bathing and it was fine . Hot water was instant. Great view of the Bell Channel Bay. Can fish right off of pool deck. Very nice restaurant / bar there. Reasonable priced. Only negative is that it is a bit of a walk to the casino and marketplace. First class, if small, dive shop and boat right on premises. Would most definitely stay there again.

“Basic hotel but Conveniently Placed”

This hotel suits those whose budget is tight. The swimming pool is small and the facilities were basic, although there is cable TV, wireless internet in the room, laundry facilties etc. and the room was cleaned daily. The staff were friendly and helpfull and the restaurant is okay and good for breakfast or covenience. The hotel is a 20minute walk from Our Lucaya which has a range of shops, bars and restaurants and a lovely beach. Check out the bar/ restaurant next door!

“Nice place with reasonable prices”

We stayed here for three nights last month. Our spacious upstairs room overlooked the channel, which made for a nice view. Too bad the guardrail for the balcony was of a closed design which blocked a lot of the view. A car is a must during your stay here, the only thing within walking distance is besides the restaurant/bar in the hotel, is a bar next door. The Marketplace will be a bit further to walk but doable. It is not advised to walk in the neighborhood after dark. The bar/restaurant in the hotel has good food and reasonable prices. They have a happy hour daily, too. We were able to prepare most of our meals in the room; but finding a well-stocked grocery store was a challenge.

Area recommendations
A car is a must; we rented ours from Brad's Car Rentals at the airport for a reasonable price. Port Lucaya Marketplace is close by, with restaurants (including Subway and Domino's) and numerous shops. A walk along the boardwalk is nice, and you can see the hotel across the water. The International Marketplace is not really worth a visit, it is mostly empty, with pushy vendors. But there is a really nice health food store there with organic coffee and friendly owner transplanted from Los Angeles. Going east out on the highway, the National Park is a must-see with its two caves, walk through the mangroves, and beautiful beach. Going west will take you to West End, a fishing village with fresh seafood sold by individuals (conch and lobster). It is unfortunate that much hurricane damage remains here in the Bahamas, and the economy has also taken its toll on the island. So, while the man-made parts may not be much to look at with many boarded-up buildings, the natural parts are beautiful. The Bahamian people are friendly, especially those in the smaller villages. We also had fun stopping at the local bars along the way.

“Helpful and Affordable”

In laid-back Freeport, this hotel fits the atmosphere. The ceiling fan hung a little funny, and the bathroom door didn't latch completely, but the room was spacious with lots of storage, comfortable, and the staff was very helpful. The food in the restaurant Upstairs is great, the staff is polite, and they are incredibly helpful when looking for things to do and how to get around. It was no 5 star hotel, but it was a great, affordable option.

“it's worth the money”

It's worth the money. The building is a bit old, but the room was clean. There's a good restaurant upstairs.

“Nice little hotel”

Conveniently placed only 10min walk from Lucaya Market place and the beach, run by nice people and there's a good little restaurant upstairs. Rooms are reasonable for the price. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for somewhere on a budget.

“Value for money and spacious room.”

The hotel is value for your money. Looking for a place to relax for a day. Its offer privacy for those of you who wants the convenience of going to Lacuya yet dont want to stay at the heart of things. This is the place for you. Its a 15 to 20mins slow walk to Lacuya. The room is spacious and offer you 2 kings size bed with a kitchen area/ fridge. The cleaniness is moderate. Clean but could be better and there room for improvement. Going on a Saturday evening, its a bit noisy as the music playing over at Lacuya could be heard from my room. But they wrap things up at 12am. Plus point. Only drawback is bathroom is facing the corridor and you need to becareful of exposure. Make sure you close the window or risk mooning your neighbour. Friendly staff and would recomend for people who is mobile. Family with children and elderly may want to reconsider as it maybe a long walk to the hub of things, unless you have your own transport. Less than 5 mins drive to marketplace.

“Independent, Budget Traveller Winner”

Friendly staff and good location. Rooms are a little run down, but are well equipped, clean, large, and look over the water and pool. The lounge has good food and prices. A rental car is handy for this location, but not a must.
