Nice hotel, great location, staff extremely helpful, reasonably prices beer although rooms a tad high priced ( hey, it's Denmark ) . They provided bikes at the hotel for a fee but told us to go nearby for free bikes...now that's good service. The owner may not like that advice but it doesn't go unnoticed by your guests.
The first thing I have to mention is that the hotel is not called 'Outlet Hotel'--its name is 'Hotel Jutlandia.' I have no idea why it is listed as Outlet Hotel but when you arrive at the address you will find Hotel Jutlandia and that is the right place.
Also, the pictures on Expedia must be very old or the rooms are in an area of the hotel I never saw because my room was very modern and furnished with very high standards. Everything appeared new, except for the carpet that had a couple spots here and there but nothing to be bothered about. The wi-fi worked well in the room and the hotel staff were all very friendly.
My room at Hotel Jutlandia was absolutely fantastic. The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower/bath tub combination fantastic with piping hot water, and the location of the hotel is perfect. You can walk to the pedestrian street that is full of restaurants and shopping, as well as the train/bus station in a few minutes. Even though it is across from the ferry terminal and on a busy street, my room was very quiet.
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and would return should I find myself in this area of Denmark again.
We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed the trip very much. The best part of the stay was Hanne, the excellent receptionist. She was very helpful when we had questions about the area. She went out of her way to help us make my 2 year old comfortable. The hotel is directly beside The Reef. Unfortunately it was closed for maintenance while we were there but Hanne had another pool suggestion in town which was much cheaper than The Reef!
Squint, and it’s easy to mistake Frederikshavn for the Caribbean. White sands and 100 palm trees line Palm Beach, which draws sun-loving visitors throughout the region. Conveniently, ferries connect the town with neighboring Norway and Sweden. Fredrikshavn's maritime roots stretch back into the 1600s. Experience this rich tradition through pleasure cruises that depart from one of the six marinas.
