The Avenue is a lovely hotel with the most welcoming of staff. It is easy to get to and off the beaten tourist track which is refreshing. This is a class act hotel, without the huge price tag. I would definitely stay here again.
I was amazed how hard it is find a hotel room in Copenhagen that can accommodate a family of four and cost under $300 per night. This hotel fits the criteria. The only thing is that the traveler needs to come with the right expectation. Having some prior experience with Scandinavia, I suspected that comparing to the American hotels rooms in this one will be smaller and less decorated. So, this is what we got as a Family Room: completely white room with IKEA-like minimalistic furnishing, one bed of a size comparable to the American full size, plus two twin beds. Apparently, one extra bed was added to accommodate our request, thus leaving no space in the room at all. It was fine with us as we only returned to the hotel for a night sleep and two out of four were the kids under 10, but the space may be a little bit tight for four or even three adults. The beds were quite comfortable and bedding was of a decent quality.
We stayed for four nights and the breakfast was absolutely identical, no variations, but offered good quality products and a good selection of breads and cold cuts. The staff is very helpful and accommodating.
The CABINN is not a luxury hotel, so be practical in your expectations, but it is very affordable, and conveniently located near the Forum metro stop. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The first floor is rather noisy as it is near the street, but the 2nd floor on the back side of the hotel where I stayed was quiet enough.
My family took a Disney cruise to the Norwegian Fjords for 7 days. When we returned, we stayed at the mansion. It was very restful and we enjoyed being in a home that was one of Copenhagens oldest and most beautiful. Francesca was extremely hospitable. Our television did not work at all, but other than no TV we were close enough to grab a cab or city bus into town center with a 10 minute walk to the bus stop. Francesca recommended a canal boat tour which was incredible on such a pretty day (we had great weather). I was traveling with my mom, and children 18, and 9 and they were both very pleased with our room, the size/space, etc. I would recommend to a friend or family member - it was a very nice place to end a great trip!
The hotel was reasonably priced for its location, despite the fact that Copenhagen is a very expensive city. The single room was clean and cozy, albeit a bit small. But for one person, it was more than enough! The bathroom was very small, but not the end of the world all things considered. It was just a 15 minute walk to the Central Square, which was very convenient. The price could have included a breakfast seeing, but again, not the end of the world. Would definitely recommend it for someone spending a few days visiting Copenhagen and wants to be close enough to the Central Square and Central Train Station.
This prestigious residential municipality is home to the city zoo and has many parks, including the Botanical Gardens, Frederiksberg Park, the landscaped gardens of the Frederiksberg Palace and a maze in the shape of the Tuborg label. Also nearby are the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain factory and the Museum of Modern Glass Art. The streets of Gammel Kongevej and Falkoner Allé are the focus for upmarket shopping, dining and night life.
