Expedia's description of the hotel facilities met and exceeded out expectations. The hotel has a modern and clean finish and also a peaceful ambiance despite being on a busy road. It is well located in terms of public transport: it took approximately 30 minutes to get from the airport using the metro which is about a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. There is a lot to see in Copenhagen but we managed to visit most of the neighborhoods and also ventured further to Roskilde to visit the Viking Ships Museum which is worth a visit. We decided to see as many of the open spaces of Copenhagen as we could and didn't manage to visit too many of the museums. We did struggle to find places to sit down and eat in the evening which were reasonably priced: most cafes/restaurants are pretty mainstream i.e. burgers, pizza/pasta, sushi which was disappointing and tend to be in the city centre. The area around the hotel is described as 'up and coming' which meant that there is not a lot on offer at the moment and tends to have a large student base. Copenhagen is expensive and if you want to eat well expect to spend mega-bucks. Overall we enjoyed out visit and would definitely consider revisiting the City and Avenue hotel.
Great stay. Great breakfast. Room could have been nicer. The photos on the website make them look a lot better. Only issue was the bathroom and I picked up some very long hairs on my clothes from the storage.
The hotel was reasonably priced for its location, despite the fact that Copenhagen is a very expensive city. The single room was clean and cozy, albeit a bit small. But for one person, it was more than enough! The bathroom was very small, but not the end of the world all things considered. It was just a 15 minute walk to the Central Square, which was very convenient. The price could have included a breakfast seeing, but again, not the end of the world. Would definitely recommend it for someone spending a few days visiting Copenhagen and wants to be close enough to the Central Square and Central Train Station.
This prestigious residential municipality is home to the city zoo and has many parks, including the Botanical Gardens, Frederiksberg Park, the landscaped gardens of the Frederiksberg Palace and a maze in the shape of the Tuborg label. Also nearby are the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain factory and the Museum of Modern Glass Art. The streets of Gammel Kongevej and Falkoner Allé are the focus for upmarket shopping, dining and night life.
