“Less than budget quality”
Pros: Free internet, price Cons: Sandpaper towels, long dark hair in/on towels, mold in the shower, loud fan that came on throughout the night, windows with cars parked directly outside your window. Bed was made with a sheet, think comforter, another sheet, and a decorative runner at the bottom. No additional blankets in the room and the comforter provided little warmth. Restaurant's dinner was less than satisfactory. Overcooked meat and sides that tasted reheated or past freshness.
“Nice surpirse!”
Like others have already said, we didn't expect much from a Ramam Inn, but boy were we pleasantly surpised! It was clean, comfortable and they had a friendly helpful staff. The nicest surprise was the very pleasant indoor courtyard and restaurant. The chef and food at the restaurant should be award winning! We stayed 2 nights and actually looked forward to having dinner there. It was great! Though not downtown, it is a close 5 minute drive away.
“Not impressed”
The hotel had a beautiful courtyard inside with a nice size pool (needs painting/updating)hot tub ,and fountain but we felt like we had been tucked away in a back forgotten room. Our room was smaller than we expected and dusty/dirty. The tiles in the bathroom need bleaching or replacing. Very disappointing for a three star hotel we stayed at a two star last time and had a much nicer/cleaner room. I'm not sure if we would stay here again.
“Time has been the Enemy...”
We stayed one night on our way to the east coast. We booked ahead of time and really didn't know what was around the area. We figured Ramada was a trustworthy name and the pictures looked ok...so we went with it. This hotel was probably pretty nice when it was first built. The rooms are built around an inner courtyard where you'll find a pool, hot tub, pool tables, a bar and an eating area. Time has been the enemy though, and it's now an older property in need of a facelift and some updating. It's just got this dingy, tired look and feel to it. For example...at first look the pool water looked grey, but it was just the colour of the old ceramic tile. The pool tables were "worn" and one I noticed had rips the felt. It looked like some updating had been started...there was some updating that was done in our bathroom, in terms of the counter etc., but the furniture in the room was older. Folks were polite and helpful though and our overnight stay was fine and we were on our way.... The truth is, it was fine for our evening stop. The food at the restaurant was good, and the kids had some fun in the pool, but someone who is the least bit picky about where they stay would most likely be disappointed. It wouldn't bother me to stay here again for an overnighter if I had to... but given the choice...I'd probably try something else first.
“Basically a nice overnighter”
Don't expect too much in terms of luxury or ammenities out of your stay. Nice enough place to rest and sleep. Using it as a break between PEI and Montreal. Hotel personnels are pleasant and the restaurant within is surprisingly good. WiFi was not working though the 2 nights we were there.
“The only place to stay on the north side”
Good location on the north side of Fredericton. Will only be more convenient when the Macdonald bridge construction is completed. New modern furniture with flat screen Samsung TV is a plus. The bathrooms appear to have been modernized recently as well. Only downside is the non-smoking room we requested smelled like smoke....might be coming through the air vents of other smoking permitted rooms.
“Will definitely stay here on my next visit”
Very pleasant stay
“Nice hotel”
This hotel is normally very convenient to UNB - except that at the moment the Princess Margaret Bridge is closed for repair.
“Noisy, Dirty.”
WAs like sleeping in a bowling ally. The noise from the pool area along with pool table echo throughout the place, people partying and shouting in the hall. Place has thin walls so you can hear the toliet flush above you followed by a loud bang when the water shuts off. The bathroom was dated and dirty, thing broken. The room was clean and small basic cable tv package, For the price stay someplace else. Would not recomend this place if you plan to sleep.
“Wonderful place to relax.”
The service at the front desk was quick and friendly. Room was in perfect order. The "oasis" in the middle of the courtyard was very relaxing after 11 hours on the road. The dining room had a nice selection of meals, reasonably priced, and the breakfast room the following morning also offered a good selection. Best of all was not having to get in the car again to go our for meals. I definitely recommend this hotel ... and even better, we got a very good price through Expedia.
