“very nice hotel”

I found this hotel to be really nice. This hotel has two towers and the ground level rooms next to the pool offer swim up access to your balcony. This allows you complete private access to the pool during swimming hours. The staff at this hotels are very friendly and seemed really happy to please you. Their is nice pub/restaurant on site and their are also two nice pub/restaurants located on each side of the property (no more than a 3minute walk). You will also find local tour operators next door and a marina with many boats and small shops. If you are looking to explore the city your will need a car or taxi as the main shopping district is a 5 - 10 minute drive.

Will stay there when 8 return to Harvet Bay. Great location. Very comfortable.

Lovely hotel in a great location over looking fraser island, staff were very helpful and friendly. Day tours to fraser island and whale watching trips set off from outside the hotel.

“Very Nice Location”

Everything about this hotel is great, wonderful location, room is great (I upgraded to a spa suite) and the service was terrific. Not every room has a great view (mine was of the back of the restaurants, not the ocean) but being there for business I didn't care. There are a cluster of restaurants around the hotel for breakfast lunch & dinner but be careful .... some are much better than others. Look for the crowd and you'll be fine.

“Okay, but not without some small concerns”

We stayed here for 2 nights and found our one-bedroom suite to be fine, but not luxurious. Nice to have laundry facilities and a kitchen. Many folks stay here because it is so close to the marina with its boat trips to watch whales or visit Fraser Island. It is indeed very convenient for this purpose, but the walls and ceilings are somewhat thin and so if you are not leaving at 6:15 am, you will still wake up to hear your neighbors depart. While the hotel is within walking distance of the beach, they charge a fee of $15 for using beach towels. The hotel restaurant was a bit slow, but the food was excellent.

“Nice place, pity about the neighbours”

It's a nice enough hotel, in a good location on the waterfront, but just a few things that let it down. The rooms are well-appointed, with big spa-baths, but during our stay we were told that there was no servicing of the rooms. Not sure if this is a normal Mantra approach or whether it was just because it was over Easter - either way it seemed strange. Not a big deal for us as we were only there a few nights, but it would definitely be an issue for longer stays. The other down side, though obviously not the Mantra's fault was an extremely noisey restaurant nearby that had loud base-heavy music playing till midnight - a real pity because if not for that it would have been a very pleasant stay.

The room was very ordinary, but it was a good price, however the hotel looks like it needs some TLC, been a long while since being constructed. Bed was very uncomfortable, needs replacing.

“Not impressed! Wouldn't recommend this hotel”

I was so excited about this hotel. It looked beautiful on the internet but did not our meet expectations. The room was decent but the service and staff were terrible. When we arrived at 8:30pm (which is not late), there was no one at the desk and the building was locked. We had to call and wait for a security guard to let us into the hotel. We have never experienced this before in our many travels. On the day of our departure, our flight was leaving later in the afternoon. We called the front desk to ask if we could get a late checkout. We did not think this would be a problem since it was off season and the hotel was not close to capacity. The staff was very inflexible, however, and very unwilling to allow us to stay 2 more hours. We thought it was ridiculous. Lastly, there was hardly anyone at this hotel but they still stuck us in a corner room. Was that really necessary? It was clean but it was very small. I would not recommend this hotel.
