Friendly and helpful staff. Fresh, clean room with a view of the river. The location was a nice 5 minute walk past "Little Venice" on the way to the old town. Car parking in a nearby hotel garage was available (small fee for overnight) for this "Bett u. Bike" hotel. Overall, a comfortable experience. I would stay here again.

Be aware of the little things....
Room, service, breakfast was great BUT the street noise and people noise is constant and late into the night...tough to sleep. No elevator, no air conditioning (and you cant keep the windows open due to the street noise), internet thready, NO parking and very difficult to access hotel due to on a high traffic street. Best for backpackers and those taking a cab to hotel.

A charming hotel by a river. The room was clean and cozy. We were delighted by a good selection of ham, cheese, yoghurt and fruit. A member of the staff was so nice that she even baked a loaf of gluten free bread for me. It would have been ideal if we had had a teaset at the room...

Charming small hotel
We loved our stay at this hotel. It is close to most of the sights of Bamberg, a charming and historic city and a World Heritage Site. The owners were charming and helpful in directing us to historic sites and recommending restaurants and things to do.

Great stay in a great German town!
Unfortunately it was for work. But the stay at the Tandem was most pleasant. Nice breakfast, serve by the friendly staff. Nice location on the river and close to the old town.

Simple great stay
Interesting stay. Front desk can only be reached by phone. Small, functional clean room. WIFI works very well. No coffee/tea maker in the room. Breakfast is good and very fresh. No shops in the immediate vicinity. Great location between the conference center and the old town with restaurants and pubs in the close neighborhood.

If it had not been 95F it would have been perfect.
The Tandem is located on a busy corner on one end of a main bridge, and within easy walking distance of local restaurants, bars, and sightseeing objectives. Unfortunately there is no air conditioning. Our room overlooked the corner. It was extremely hot and humid the two nights and days we were in Bamberg. The first night we had the windows open but could not sleep due to the noise from revelers and traffic. The second night we kept the windows closed, and had the fan pointed directly at our bodies. We were able to sleep. The windows definitely keep the sound out. The room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. The best part of the stay was the owners' daughter, who was managing the desk. She was delightful, provided us with a fan, and provided us with all sort of excellent recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing.

Walking distance to everything. Hotel on the river
We walked about 1.5klms from the train station to the hotel. Our room had a nice view of the river and is a very short and lovely walk to the old town area. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were very pleasant and efficient.

Wonderful hotel!
This is a wonderful hotel! We had two rooms both were very clean and had a nice view one on the street the other on the river. The breakfast was a traditional meat cheese light meal. We parked our car for 2 days and we walked to all the sites and restaurants. Would stay here again without looking at others.

Beautiful Water View
This hotel was a great value just a few blocks from "downtown" Bamberg! Our windows looked right out on the river and one had a screen so we could keep it own all night without bugs being attracted to our lights. Simply beautiful view. The room itself was tastefully minimalist, but had all the essentials (closet, desk, place for suitcase, night tables). Breakfast was included and also good. Parking wasn't included, but there was a garage 2 blocks away we could use.

The hotel staff was very nice and accommodating. The included breakfast was a feast and quite fancy. Located right on the river just on the edge of old town. Our room viewed the river and was very comfortable. Only one English TV station but who needs it. They also had bikes for rent from the hotel for only 10 € a day, and they were very nice bikes. The town is amazing and anyone traveling through Europe should stop in, highly recommend staying at the Tandem.

Perfect boutique hotel beside the river
What a find this is! Lovely hotel beside the river with minimalist modern rooms, very friendly owners, free Wifi and a fab breakfast, all within walking distance of the old town and cathedral. The only minus is no parking at all but there is a covered public car park nearby.

Great Hotel in a Quaint Town
Loved the Hotel Tandem, no qualms at all about staying here again. It's right near a nice little strip of Breweries/Beer Halls in the old town section, yet still walkable from the train station. Great place

Great little hotel!
The stars aligned when I arrived in Bamberg this past Wednesday as it was the first nice day of the year and everyone was outside drinking and chatting. Hotel Tandem was clean, attractive and well situated on the canal. My room was tidy and the bed very comfortable. If I ever go back to Bamberg, I would look forward to returning to this hotel.

Modern, well located hotel on the river.
The Tandem tops the list of the 7 hotels we've stayed in so far in Germany. It's clean, well located and the breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. We were fortunate to get a room overlooking the river with three windows to enjoy the view. Compared to the cost/value of other hotels, the Tandem is a great value. The photo submitted with my review was taken looking out one of our windows.

Easily accessible, great view and ambience.
Very clean, lovely town, walking distance to historic sights, and good restaurants. Owner was wonderful and easy to deal with. Would stay here again, next time longer. Overlooked the Regnitz River. Fabulous.

Perfect location in a great city. 5 mins walk to the Old Town Hall and to the restaurants around there, and a peaceful setting on the most picturesque stretch of the river , although there is some passing road traffic.We had Room 8 which probably has the best view. A lovely small hotel, and very helpful owner. We particularly liked the service and quality of breakfast. Life's perhaps too short to keep stopping at the same places, but we'll definitely want to go back to Bamberg, and would only stop at the Tandem

The personal service of a B&B
We stayed four nights at the Tandem. Friendly service, a modern room with all you need, and a traditional German breakfast daily. The hotel was rebuilt from the ground up in 2009. It is walking distance to downtown Bamberg and alongside the river. The family run staff was most friendly and accomodating. The cost was reasonable, and quite a bargain when you account for the daily breakfast. When we return to Bamberg, we will not gave to choose where we will stay...we will come back to the Tandem.

Ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt. Hatte ein Zimmer mit Blick direkt auf den Fluss, sehr hübsch. Beim Frühstück gab es kein Buffet, sondern sehr freundliche und reichliche persönliche Bewirtung. Keinerlei Einschränkung gegenüber dem meist üblichen Frühstück in Buffetform, sehr gute Auswahl, sehr angenehm. Lage: sehr hübsch direkt am Fluss, nah zu Restaurants usw.

Gute Lage, man kommt zu Fuß überall hin. Ist aber eher ein Zimmer mit Frühstück, kein Hotel. Keine Bar, Lobby oder ähnliche Leistungen. Das Café war geschlossen. Aufbackbrötchen und kein Frühstückbuffet (verständlich bei der Größe). Wer ein Hotel sucht ist hier falsch. Wer ein Zimmer mit einfachem Frühstück sucht ist jedoch gut bedient.

Gute Lage, Frühstück recht einfach, Zimmer in der Mansarde zwar ausreichend aber mit kleinem Bad. Es wird mit Michelin 2018 beworben, ist aber teurer wie im Führer.
