“Bamberg's Best”

What's not to like? Step off the train in Bamberg, walk 600 metres straight ahead and you're at your hotel! The famous Fassla brewery is right around the corner. The incomparable Old Town is just across the bridge and down the street. The hotel itself is new and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our (included) breakfast was a huge, delicious buffet and (if the time of year makes this necessary), the hotel is air-conditioned!

“Great place to stay in Bamberg”

The hotel is centrally located, and an easy walk from the train station. There are two computer stations in the lobby with free internet, and free wi-fi is in each room. The free breakfast was a big surprise, I was expecting cold rolls and cereal, but is was a complete hot buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, and lots more. Overall is was a great place to stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly. If I ever make it back to Bamberg, I will certainly stay here.

“Fantastic Hotel!”

What a gem of hotel, located in one of the nicest cities in Europe. Location was perfect, halfway between the main train station and old town. The breakfast was superb and the hotel staff were excellent. We can't wait to get back to Bamberg and we will be staying here next time.

Old Town Centre - Markets etc Michaelsberg - Worth the walk for the view Fassla Brew Haus - Fantastic beer and food, the Dunkelweiss is superb Mahr's Brau - Nice little beer garden just outside town.

“Bamberg's Gem”

We arrived late to the hotel because of bad weather. The staff were very helpful. We decided to stay an extra night to see the sites and the christmas market. Great hotel in a wonderful town.

Area recommendations

This hotel is within walking distance of the old town center. The Old town Hall on the river is within minutes of the hotel along with all the shops americans search for. The seven surrounding hills are closer to walk than expected. The local beer is great if you like smokey dark beer. Never had a bad meal.

Events and shows

Went just prior to Christmas. Although the weather was cold and snowy, the Christmas market was a lot of fun. Great for children too until about 5:30 p.m. This is when everyone is out of work and the Gluhwein stands are packed with locals. Big crowd.

“Highly recommend!”

We arrived in the hotel, the lobby was very nice and clean. On the reception was a very nice young men who checked us in and gave us the key, explaining how to properly use it. Room was very clean, bathroom with huge shower stall with plenty of shampoo, conditioner bottles and lotion, even shower cap. Complimentary bottled water on the table was a nice touch. At the reception we were offered recommendation on restaurant and map of the city and I asked if he has one in English since my husband speaks no German. We got English version and were on our way to explore the city. Breakfast buffet had nice variety of cold cuts, muesli, very nice cheeses including blue cheese and Brie, cold and hot beverages. Location is great, just a short walk to the very center over the bridge that offered wonderful view of the river and surroundings. I would definitely stay there again.....

Area recommendations

Old town is very pretty and somewhat different from other small German cities. All areas around the river as also pictures perfect. There is a parklike small forest at the south end of Bamberg with lake and river and breathtaking nature.

“Sehr schönes Hotel, 100% zu empfehlen!!”

Vom Hotel aus ca. 5 Min. zu Fuß vom Hauptbahnhof, ca. 5 Min. zu Fuß in die sehr schöne Innenstadt. Kostenlos Kaffee/Kuchen am Mittag/Nachmittag. Große Auswahl an deutschen und internationalen TV-Programmen. Sehr schönes, helles Hotel, in dem man sich wohlfühlen kann.

Sehr schöne Innenstadt, mit verwinkelten Gassen, schönen Häuserfassaden, absolut sehenswert für einen 1-2-Tages-Trip!

“Das Best Western Hotel liegt nahe am Zentrum Bambergs und bietet was man braucht.”

Das Hotel ist neu und sauber. Die Zimmer bieten keinen Luxus und sind eher klein. Die Zimmerheizung ging nur über die Klimaanlage, was mit etwas Geräusch verbunden war, man kann es aber (nachts) ausschalten. Auch der Eingangsbereich ist eher nüchtern gehalten. Angenehm fanden wir, dass es jederzeit kostenlos Kaffee, Tee und Gebäck gab. Das Frühstück war für unseren Geschmack gut und vielseitig. Insgesamt waren wir zufrieden und können das Hotel empfehlen.

“Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral und in der Nähe vieler Sehenswürdigkeiten.”

Das neugebaute Best Western liegt in verkehrstechnisch günstiger Lage. Nahe am Bahnhof, der Fußgängerzone und vieler Sehenswürdigkeiten. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr lecker angerichtet.
