“Good choice for Igaussu Falls”

We were on a two day visit of Igaussu Falls, so we wanted a convenient hotel with good visitor services. This hotel fit the bill perfectly. We arrived early in the morning and they had a room ready for us (with free airport pickup). Within an hour of our arrival, we had set up our two day touring schedule with the in house tour dest and were on our way on the first tour. That's efficient. We had (on purpose) not made any advance reservations and they were not needed. This hotel has a great breakfast (included), free internet (which was quirky) and is close to a full service shopping mall (with food court). The staff was helpful and used to handling the tourist visiting the falls so could anticipate and answer question regarding the Falls with ease (do I want to visit the Argentinian side?).

Small enough city that it probably doesn't make a difference.

“Decent, safe hotel”

The hotel provided a decent breakfast that was included in the bill. The beds were twin size, but were not uncomfortable. Bathroom was decent size. Indoor air-conditioner worked well. The staff could speak English and were helpful in scheduling rides to the hotel. And the hotel was nicely kept.

Area recommendations

Hotel was within walking distance of a Mall and major bus line. Next to military base. Soldiers were there to guard the base and did not bother pedestrians walking by, but clearly were an added security.

“Bella Italia”

There are other hotels closer to Iguazu, but many are not in great condition (unless you stay at the hotel IN the park) This hotel is a longer drive, but fairly nice on the inside, has good breakfast and a couple of dining options for dinner, but the surrounding neighborhood leaves much to be desired.

“Excellent choice, but ask for a room that does not face the road”

The place is old, but very well maintained, the rooms are so big, you could fit 2 rooms of an average hotel. The people were very helpful and the restaurant was much better than expected. In order to get internet access free of charge, lmake sure you let them know that you booked through Expedia.

Area recommendations

If you cannot book a tour to the Falls, go to the bus terminal (15 minute walk) and there is a taxi station and negotiate a fare for the Falls. It costs as much as the tours and gives you freedom to pace your visit.

“Foz do Iguacu”

excellent hotel. very accomodating. some of the clerks spoke english and were very helpful. the breakfast, which is included each day, is very good. Not far from the waterfall, triple boarder and the hydroelectric plant. excellent choice for any nationality traveler.

“A good value and quite convenient.”

The hotel is located in the city center of Foz do Iguacu (town on the Brazilian side). Foz do Iguacu is actually a big city with about 300,000 people so hardly a town. There are probably some newer, poshier resorts on the outskirts of town although those probably cost a bit more money and are probably a bit out of the way unless all you plan to do is stay at the resort. This hotel was a short walk away from a very large and modern shopping mall. It was pretty neat to see a Brazilian mall. The "supermarket" there was quite fascinating to walk through to see the merchandise and the prices. There was a very neat flower store right around the corner from the hotel that made for interesting browsing and had some nice gifts to purchase as well. Also, within walking distance was Avenida Brasil that had a lot of shops. The free breakfast buffet at the hotel had quite a lot of selections and was quite good. The service was very good and the front desk staff was very helpful and most spoke English. The hotel is on the older side but had its charm. I saw some larger, and they looked newer, resorts on the outskirts of town on the way to the falls that looked nicer but thinking they cost more money and there is little around them if you want to go for a walk. This hotel was very convenient. For the price I paid, it was of very excellent value.

Area recommendations

Must see the Falls. I also did the Rafting trip which is a must do as well. Just a word of warning if you do it, you will get wet, very wet. Protect your belongings. Some guy from Australia did not get this warning so his camera didn't work after the trip. I took a small waterproof bag (that I got from amazon.com) which helped to protect my camera. I also took a larger waterproof bag that I stored my t-shirt and a small towel in. That helped tremendously. They do provide lockers to store your belongings but there is a small cost to it. I did not realize they take videos of your trip; however, I did not take enough cash and a credit card because I didn't want to risk all of that getting wet in case my waterproof bags did not work but wish I did so I could get the DVD of it.

“excellent value”

The hotel is in the good part of the city. About 20 min from the Brazilian side of the falls. Very nice staff. Clean rooms. Nice breakfast buffet. Free parking, wifi and outdoor pool. Car rental highly recommended if you want to get max out of your stay. Do both the Brazilian and Argentinian side.

There are some areas you want to avoid in Iguassu. Ask the reception for advice.

“Foz do Iguassu - Bella Italia”

The Bella Italia was more-or-less what I expected, so I had no disappointments or pleasant surprises. As reported by others who have stayed there, the breakfast buffet was excellent. I was particularly pleased by the excellent HOT coffee at breakfast. The hotel personnel were very friendly and extremely helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a multi-day stay.

Area recommendations

I would prefer being a little closer to the center of town, but the location of the Bella Italia was not bad.

Must see

The falls!!! I would also recommend an excursion to Cuidad del Este, Paraguay for the shopping.

“Average, clean, great breakfast!”

Average hotel with small size room, but confortable and clean enough. The proximity to a major shopping mall is hany at night - not much to do in Foz do Iguacu apart from the Falls anyway. Very good breakfast - everything you can dream of! The place is 20 years old and it looks like nothing has changed since them - but I would recommend it anyway!
