“What I expected!”

First, This is a Super 8. You know that when you book the room. We selected this hotel because it was as cheap as I was willing to go and it was close to our destination. We just needed a safe place to change clothes, sleep, and shower in the morning. We were probably asleep for 5 of the 7 hours we were at the hotel. The area is near Meacham Airport and only a few minutes from Downtown Ft. Worth and/or the Stockyards. We were attending an event at the Stockyards, so it worked out well for us. As we planned on partaking in the festivities, we wanted a hotel with a reasonable rate and a reasonable cab ride back. The cab from in front of Billy Bobs in the Stockyards cost us $13 and some change to get back. The surrounding area is mostly industrial with a Holiday Inn Express and a McDonalds next door. It appeared to be a low crime area. I did not see any vagrants, I did not get hit up for money, and the parking lot is well lit. It is just off I-35 and our window faced the highway, but we did not hear a lot of traffic. The hotel itself appears to be fairly new but already showing some signs of wear and tear. The carpets were stained and appeared to be lacking maintenance. The room was clean and the breakfast area appeared to be clean but was lacking in the selection department. Again: this is a Super 8. The desk staff was less than friendly but not rude. Floors, walls, and doors are thin. If somebody moves, you will know it. Fit our needs, no complaints.

Area recommendations
Easy access to Stockyards and Downtown Ft. Worth. Hotel and immediate area appeared safe. Easy access to cabs.

“"Needs Cleaning"”

The lobby area is nice, but the elevator and corridors need new carpet or a good cleaning. There was a Lazyboy chair in our room that looked like it was 20 years old. Staff at the front desk was not very helpful. I realize the price dictated a lot, but the hotel can still be clean and accommodating.

Area recommendations
The Stockyard or downtown, particularly around Sundance Square, are great areas to stay. The Stockyard gives you the full favor of the "Cowtown" experience. Downtown has been revitalized and has numerous attractions, museums, etc. The dining is terrific. There are never enough days to try all the restaurants.
When to go
Go in October when the weather is cooler. If you like western style, you have to go to the Stockyard, Cowgirl Hall of Fame, and the Amon Carter Museum. Don't miss dining at Joe T. Garcia's, Lonesome Dove, Grady's or H3. For great family fun go to the Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering in October. It has been running for 21 years and provides great entertainment.

“Pleasantly surprised”

I really thought we were going to end up in a nasty industrial type area, but the area was nice and clean. There's a gas station and liquor store in walking distance, and a GREAT shopping area a few mils up the road. The hotel was nice and clean and the staff was nice.

“whatever...”

I'll probably go there again. I have to pay for this myself, as I AM "the company". The double occupancy rate is hard to beat in that safe area. It's clean enough. The mattresses are HARD, but many people really like that. Bring your own pillows (but you should always do that anyway). Since last year, they've cut WAY back on the continental breakfast, but (again) whatever... Coffee/hot tea/bagels/white bread-toaster-jam-butter-cream cheese/(a few) cinnamon rolls/four kinds of cold cereal & grocery store carton milk/a machine w/orange juice & apple juice. Coffee maker (with coffee), refrigerator/microwave in the room. There are several more expensive hotels adjacent, so right there's a McDonalds, a liquor store, a 7-11, etc. It's 30 seconds from I-35W & about 15 minutes (in the very worst traffic) from downtown Fort Worth. There's wifi, a computer in the lobby, cable TV, a swimming pool...even an exercise room. There is a pay washer and dryer. Coke machines on every floor. Two ice machines. Some snack machines. I'm 55 years old. It's a helluva lot better than stuff that was available when I was a little kid traveling with my family. I'm a person with some resources, but don't like to blow unnecessary money on stuff like fancy hotel rooms when Super 8 (clean/convenient/NOT gross) meets my needs. Most importantly, NO one in ANY of the rooms that we rented found ANY bedbugs - ZERO !! NONE !! ...and you can find bedbugs in $$$$/night rooms (ugh).

“Return Visit”

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel and will continue to return here on my trips to Fort Worth. It's conveniently located minutes from where I go, it's clean and the grounds are kept well. I haven't taken advantage of the breakfast so I can't comment on it but the breakfast area is clean as well. Although I've never needed maintenence for any issues, the desk staff has been friendly and professional each time. My stays have only been one night each time, but wouldn't hesitate to stay several nights, and probably will in the future. For the price and value, you really can't do much better....

Area recommendations
I stay here when I come to visit "cowtown", the stockyards area, typically when I attend a show at Billy Bobs, which is several times a year, and it's close and convenient to the downtown Ft. Worth area as well.

“neede some improvements and cleaning.”

the room was basiscally ok. wallpaper was coming off the wall. the sheet on our kingsize bed was a queen sheet and would not stay on. the carpet seemed a little dirty. hotel employees were nice enough, but did not go out of their way. we have stayed here before and it seemed cleaner and more kept up. we basically stayed for the convenience of being close to what we were doing and the price. i will say the the airconditioning was good. it was so cold we finally had to turn it off. that was a plus.

Area recommendations
ft. worth stockyards. convenient to restaurants and fast food and shopping.

“Great Stay”

Hotel was really nice and clean. Right off I-35 for convenience. My only complaint was that there wasn't a huge selection for breakfast but there was a Cracker Barrel and McDonalds nearby!
