“Below average”

Stayed here on an overnight business trip to Ft. Wayne. Stayed here many years ago so thought I would come back again. When I arrived no one was at front desk. A sign said someone would be back soon. Another person (not a guest) came in and finally yelled for someone. The clerk came out. I think she was in the back room. The hotel appeared crowded, so I was surprised. I finally got checked in. Had paid for the room through Expedia, but still was asked for a credit card. Surprised me and I did not care for giving that information out without reason. None was explained to me. When I got to the room, heat was on and room temp was unbearable. I turned the heater off and left it off all night. Temp outside was near freezing, but stayed warm in the room. Found out that a dog show was in town and that most of the guests had dogs. When I went to my room, had to avoid an owner exercising their dog in the hallway. Overall, the experience was adequate but below average. Noise level from hallway was evident all night. Hotel was clean, but needed some repair. Alarm clock did not work so I had to leave a wake up call at desk. Little things like that caused me to decide to not stay there again.
