“Extremely satisfied”

All aspects of this hotel were satisfactory from the helpful friendly staff,comfort and cleanliness of the rooms to the beach front position. We would definately return there and recommend it to others

“Great hotel”

The Sanibel Sunset Beach Resort is a great place for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was nice and big and the screened in porch was great to sit on at night. Each morning the hotel has a great continental breakfast, probably the best one I have had ever. It offers fresh pastries and coffee and a few other things as well. We enjoyed that the bikes were free to use, it was just hard finding a bike that worked well. The beach was nice, as it was private, and the chairs and umbrellas were free as well. The location of the hotel is great as well. It's further away from the other hotels and towards the end of a road. Very few cars pass by, which makes for a quiet location. Overall we would go back to this hotel.

“See you next year”

Hotel staff very pleasant. We arrived early and our room was not ready. There was this nice lady who was able to find a room available to suit our needs. Unfortunately I did not get her name. (Blonde hair with glasses). But all the staff was just as nice. Beach within walking distance from our room. Beautiful sunsets everynight. The Old Cow was good and the Bubble room was also good. If you like to kayak. Take a guided tour at tarpon bay. Michael was really nice and new alot about the area and it's history. 2 1/2 hours $53.00 child and adult 2 seat kayak. Hopefully we will be back next year.

“Very Nice Hotel”

We stayed at the Sunset Beach Resort in June 2008. The location is great, right on the beach. The hotel is small so the beach and pool were never crowded. The room we stayed in had an apartment size frig, stove, sink, microwave, plus cookware, dishes etc. It had a new flat screen TV and DVD player. A safe was provided in the closet. They serve a free continental breakfast. The hotel provides abundant chaise lounges, umbrellas, and bicycles. The grounds were immaculate and landscaped beautifully. There were 2 gas grills available for use. The pool was very clean, up to date etc. Room was immaculate and up to date with an abundance of fresh towels. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. We would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone.

My wife and I wanted a place to relax and enjoy ourselves and we picked a wonderful hotel. We loved it and everything was great.

This was my second stay in three years, and once again, it was great! They have renovated since my last stay, our room was decorated very nice! The staff is very nice, good cont. breakfast. I will be back!

“Very Pleasant Stay”

The Sanibel Sunset Beach Resort was a very pleasant place to stay. The folks at the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful. Included at no additional charge are bikes (which are great to use on the bike path that wraps around the island), chairs and umbrellas by the ocean, towels for the pool, tennis, and shuffleboard. Our room was tidy and updated. The bathroom is on the small side, and we had a bottom floor room, so it was rather cold and smelled a bit like a basement. We would definitely return (and just ask for a second floor room).

when i plan a trip to sanibel, sunset resort is a "given." there's just no where else to stay.

“Perfect Accommodations on a Perfect Beach”

Our lodging priorities are: (1) Beach front property, with at least a partial view of the beach, (2) free continental breakfast, and (3) kitchenette. Sanibel Sunset Beach Resort exceeded our expectations. We were allowed to check in at 10:00 AM, which made it possible for us to spend the entire day at the resort. Staff personnel were very, very friendly and helpful. Our room had a partial view of the beach, and a full view of the swimming pool. The beds were perfect -- soft white cotton linens with white light-weight down comforters and exquisite pillows. We had a screened-in back porch with a small table where we enjoyed our continental breakfast. The best part of the resort is the PERFECT BEACH! The resort puts out lounge chairs and umbrellas for guests. The water was warm and clear, and there were abundant shells, especially in the early morning hours. The resort gave us bicycles to ride at no extra cost. We spent most of the day on the beach, then rode bikes to the Ding Darling Nature Center. That evening, after a drive to Captiva Island to watch the sunset, the resort staff suggested the Doc Ford restaurant, which was really delicious. Our stay at this resort was the best part of our 12-day Florida tour. We can't wait to visit again someday.

“Talk about serene and relaxing..........”

Sanibel Sunset Beach Resort was an enjoyable, positive experience from the minute we arrived until we, unfortunately, had to check out to return home. The resort is right on the beach - the pool is huge - the rooms are clean - the bikes are free - the breakfast is free - and every morning the staff sets up lounges and umbrellas on the beach...so, just wake up and walk the short walk to the beach without having to haul any stuff. The staff - from owner to housekeeping - were friendly and helpful and exceeded expectations. If you have never been to Sanibel just remember that a car is a must to be able to experience the wide variety of restaurants in town, in Captiva, and in the surrounding areas. If you want a serene and relaxing vacation - Sanibel fits the bill - speaking of "bills' - bring lots of them....everything is priced on the high end.
