“Dave”

Rick and Rae are the best. They took care of our every need this trip and we couldn't find anyone in the area that would have treated us like we were family. The hotel is located conveniently close to the pier and the hot spot of the city but far enough back to allow an early night if you want. This was our 3rd trip to the Sun Deck and I expect our 4th next spring break.

“Cool place in a great location”

We really enjoyed staying at this unique little place with a great personality and located close to the public beach, restaurants and entertainment. Would definitely stay there again!

“Good for any traveler.”

Business or pleasure, this place is a good spot for those with any agenda. You can just chill, or take a short walk and have all the daytime and njghttime activities for days, no car needed. Then when you feel up to it, go exploring the beautiful fort meyers and nearby Florida attractions. I'm staying a full week next year. I went the first week of November, a little chilly, but it warmed up enough during the day to hang on the beach and at night at the outside tiki bars and sidewalk pubs. Good Shopping, Good Rooms, Good Hotel Layout. And Super easyto get back on estero and smurf over the bridge. Honestly, when you get back to the room at night after sight seeing, and I guess depending on the season, you are literally about 200 to 300 steps to being in the middle of a party zone. Good Stuff, Enjoy! Oh, the shopping stays open pretty late.

“I can almost hear Jimmy Buffet!”

Although campy, you get the Key West experience without the long trip! The owners were so nice and thoughtful! I highly recommend the Sun Deck Inn!

WE HIGHLY RECOMMED THIS TOO ANYONE. NOW OUR FAVORITE PLACE TOO STAY. AWESOME LOCATION!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT BEDS AND VERY FRIENDLY OWNERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHEN WE COME BACK THIS IS OUR PLACE TOO STAY!! CLOSE TO BEACHES AND WALKING DISTANCE TO GREAT RESTAURANTS.

“Good”

Owner and his wife were very nice - even though we've been to Ft. Myers Beach many times, they gave us a couple of places to go which we'd not been to prior that were excellent. We only needed 1 night stay as we'd rented a condo on Sanibel to be near family and we like Ft. Myers Beach as more active and crazy which suits us. Nice room with two porches, clean, full kitchen, excellently located in the middle of everything with a personal parking space. Perfect for our needs to kick off a rousing vacation.

“Fun in the Sun”

We enjoyed the Sun Deck Inn. Rick and Rae had lots of good suggestions of what to see and do and were very nice. The hotel isn't on the water and doesn't have a pool, so that kind of stinks. If you're expecting the Ritz, this isn't it. Our room could have used a good scrubbing, too, especially the kitchen area (I think I'd give it a 3.5 but there isn't an option for that). That being said, we would stay there again, but would probably ask for a different room. As to location, the Inn is centrally located - walking distance - from the beach, food, and shopping. We debated whether we should stay in this area or Sanibel; we ultimately decided to stay here due to price (good idea). Sanibel has a toll so as every time you cross the bridge it's $6. The beach in Sanibel is fantastic though - lots of good shells and very scenic - so I recommend going there at least one day. If you head north on Sanibel island you can really get a crazy experience if you eat at The Bubble Room. As to other things...as of last week, swamp rides weren't available (low water levels). But if you want to see birds and gators you can head to Corkscrew Park and see both. If you stay at the Sun Deck you could either choose to walk everywhere and stay in the area, or do what we did and rent a car and explore. Try Heavenly Biscuit for breakfast - just west of Sun Deck in a tiny shack off Estero Blvd (left-hand side) - it was really great. The Oyster bar right down the street from the Sun Deck is great, too.

“Recommended stay”

Located in the center of Fort Myers Beach this place is perfect to stay with a bigger group of people. Me and friends stayed in the 8 person apartment and we had a awesome time. The bedding is very comfortable and we even had a pinball machine. The kitchen was OK, could be a bit cleaner. The barbeque was nice, we were free to make us of all the stuff. If you are going to visit Ft Myers Beach with a group of people, stay here!

“A hotel that is unique and has character!”

This hotel is cute & has alot of character! I would stay there again.
