“great location”

This condo was comfortable and conveniently located within walking distance to many restaurants, the beach and golf. It has a casual atmosphere.

Area recommendations
This condo is situated in a great neighbourhood. It is situated in the quieter south end of the island. Very convenient location for fun and relaxing. Not good for bar life, but excellent for families and seniors.

“Great Place for Family Vacations”

Easy check in process. It was our second stay at Santa Maria. Our family of five loves the place. Two bedroom condo has enough room for everyone. Easy walk to the beach and the resort has a large pool and hot tub. We will be going back!

“overall very good condo”

The Santa Maria is not really a hotel but a condo that you rent. It has pluses and minuses. I had a problem when checking in because I was given a room that hadn't been cleaned. However, after calling the front desk I was upgraded to a better room. It was a two bedroom townhouse. It overlooked the pool. The best thing about Santa Maria is the pool area. The pool is huge, well maintained and best of all heated. The condo was nice and had a kitchen but since it had absolutely nothing stocked in it - not very useful. Fine if you drove there but coming off a flight I had to shop for everything. Example - they left a small packet of coffee but since there was no sugar or creamer I had to buy that. I've been to these types of condos before and they leave a few of these necessities around. The condo was in good condition and everything worked well. Nice flat screen TV with satellite. It is at the far end of Fort Myer's Beach. It is an hour trip to get downtown to see Red Sox games for spring training. The beach traffic is brutal and it takes 30 minutes just to get off the island pretty much the whole day even when the weather is lousy. If you are looking for a reasonably priced condo on Fort Myer's Beach and not looking to do a lot of travel off-island I would recommend Santa Maria.

Getting around
You can take the Fort Myer's shuttle buses which run often and are reasonably priced.
Must see
City of Palms Park is the home of the Red Sox during spring training. It is a nice little cozy park with great sight lines. No matter which ticket you buy you will have a good seat. Go now before they build the new stadium which will probably be overpriced and boring.
Dining
Eat at Hooter's. Two location in Fort Myer's. Reasonably priced food - good beer. Great looking waitresses!
Nightlife
Overrated unless you are a college kid on spring break or a senior. There is no in-between all the bars and clubs either cater to the college kids or the old-timers.
Outdoors or beach
The beach is great in Fort Myer's Beach if you are staying on that side. If you are on the opposite side good luck trying to get access. There are a few public access points here and there, but they are few and far between with little to no parking. You are probably better off driving off the island to Lover's Key State Park where there is a nice beach and plenty of free parking.

“Tropical paradise”

Santa Maria is a lovely complex that has the ambiance of a yacht club. Most condos have a lovely balcony view of the marina. The rooms are immaculate with all of the immenities of home. We particularly appreciated the washer and dryers in each condo. The pool is lovely and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I have stayed in several condos and Santa Maria in Ft Myers is definitely my favorite.

“Surprise in Fort Myers”

Arriving in Fort Myers for a weekend in a very cold weather for Florida, was kind of disappointing, BUT when we opened the condo door, we were surprised. Accomodations were really outstanding. Exactly what we were looking for. Two bedrroms, two bath, large living room, kitchen, every place very comfortable and clean. Close to good restaurants, markets, shops. Cross street to a beautiful beach. Lot of spots for astonishing photos.

What to pack
don't forget to include beach chairs and umbrella, or at least a large towel. There is none in the condo specific for this reason.

“Will be going back to the same place in a couple of years.”

We had a great time. We took our three oldest granddaughters (13, 14 and 15 years old). Two of the three had never seen the ocean and was very impressed. WE liked the hotel which was very clean and the staff was very willing to help in anyway they could. I recommend this Resort to anyone who will be staying in the Ft. Myers area.

Area recommendations
Stay in the beach area. Very clean and people are very helpful.

Traveller's tip

“Love the condo, hated check-in process.”

This is our 3rd visit to Santa Maria, my mother is 92 and lives in Cape Coral, in years past we always stayed in condo. 202, mainly because it is the only unit with a T.V. in the guest bedroom, She is very hard of hearing and needs a tv with closed capiton. I put this into my request with you when making the reservation. The check in has been changed , you go to a real estate office a mile away from the hotel. The gal at the desk was NOT very nice. Having called the morning of check in and was told it would be OK to get there at 11AM we arrived. Also when I asked about the request for unit 202 was told that that is only a request and there was nothing they could do. And we were told to come back after 3pm. Well it is hot this time of year. We went to lunch and arrived at hotel about 1:30 PM ... We got a unit that was clean and nice, but the Maintaince man had to "rig" up a cable and move the L.R. TV into mothers room. And when talking to him he told me that unit 202 the one which I asked for was indeed unoccupied was for our entire vist. It seems to me that the office just was working the numbers and the owners of our unit were up next for a rental. You know after 3 years of visits I most likely will not stay there again. Even though I love the place. But the office was a joke.

“A Diamond in rough!”

Arrival was 18 th of May was looking for overcrowded beaches and pools but far from truth. Our pool was heated and we had a few joiners each visit we went the ocean which was across the street but a small walk was so beautiful we have pics during the day of sandy beaches and no other people but us on it !The sunsets breathtaking and sirene I think we passed maybe 10 people the whole trip on this end of beach area.We went up to Holiday Inn for dinner at Pinchers which we really were dissappointed with but, loved the bar and entertainment they had.It was very crowded up at that end of beach. We discovered a dog beach at our end also.We had a room that was older and could have used an update, and were promised a view of yacht basin or pool we got the parking lot, we did not complain however and accepted our fate until at 3 am the water started dripping rather loudly from the faucwett in shower and would not stop no matter what we did it was very loud when you want to sleep.I slept in living room.Calling the office next day, they were very helpful sent maintenece up right away and we were upgraded to a nicer room, newer furniture that was beautiful and a view of yacht basin and pool, who could ask for anything more. They were very apologetic and helpful and bent over backwards to make our stay memorable and nicer. I would go back there and I think this was best time to travel if your looking for no crowds and peace and quiet !!!! Loved this place hands up times 100 !

Traveller's tip
shortcut to beach go out drive go left to crosswalk cross over go behind bench walk straight back under gazebo to beach !!!beautiful sunset pics dolphin jumps and shells small but fun to collect. But absolutley peaceful, bring camerea's.

Fort Myers Beach, Florida, United States of America: Decidedly less ritzy than other Florida seaside towns, Fort Myers Beach is a favorite destination for families. Area singles, too, also pass the time here, especially at Lynn Hall Memorial Park and at Time Square’s bars, restaurants, and shops. Casino gambling is mostly illegal in Florida; a Fort Myers Beach-based casino cruise flouts this ban by floating just beyond the long arm of the law.
