“Great place to stay.”

Older place but clean and comfortable room. Everything right there, beach, pool, tiki bar, resturant, and large deck to enjoy. This is a Family resort with lot's of Kids and activities for them. We are an older couple and enjoyed all the activity of the younger People. If You don't like Kids and want peace and quiet it is not the place for You. Everyone including staff were very friendly.

“very relaxing”

We had a very enjoyable week at the Outrigger. We upgraded our room to a king beachfront and was well worth the money. Spent most of our time at the sundeck and pool relaxing. Will return!!!!!!!!

“More than we expected”

Based on the ratings we were expecting just a comfortable room and access to a beach and Tiki Bar. What we found was a very accomodating staff, a vey nice beach, Tiki Bar prices that were well below the average in that area, and a nice pool. The room was comfortable and clean and our one small maintenance need was fulfilled immediately. The cafe' was good, especially the key lime pie. The restaurant across the street, Charley's Boathouse, was more than excellent, but check the menu prices to be sure that you intend to eat that well. It is more upscale than it looks from the outside. We had a nice table overlooking a bay inlet, as several of their tables do, and service was great. The beach chairs near the building were free and avaialable during our entire stay, but cabanas were avaialable a little closer to the water for rent.

“Will be staying there again”

We enjoyed our stay at the Outrigger. We go to Estero Island a lot and usually stay elsewhere, but since so many places have a 3 day minimum and we were only going to stay there for 2 days we went looking to find another place to stay. Here are some of the good and bad points: Good points: Friendly, courteous staff. Wonderful tiki hut bar right on the beach(I appreciated that it closed at 9pm to cater to families) Super on sight restruant. We ate dinner and breakfast there. Dinner was great and we really enjoyed the buffet style breakfast. We've had buffet style breakfasts before and some of them were found to be lacking. Not at the Outrigger. the quality and selection was outstanding. Huge beach area with a great view of the sunset. Not so good points: The beds were standard motel quality. If you have a bad back be sure to bring an air mattress. There was a temporary loss of hot water. There is nothing more invigorating than taking a cold shower early in the morning. However I didn't feel like being invigorated that morning. A hot shower would have been much nicer. The bottom line is that the good outweighed the bad. We did enjoy our stay and we will return.

“Listen up”

This hotel is a hidden treasure - especially if you have small children. You are right on the beach (no roads to cross), the pool is warm and well-kept, the efficiency rooms offer all that you need to prepare easy meals (no need to worry about finding child-friendly restaurants or eating out every night with exhausted children.) We were very impressed by how kid-friendly in a low-key way this resort is - even down to the fact that in the room we had, the furniture too was kid-friendly, no sharp corners. Someone put a lot of thought into this resort. There's an outdoor tiki bar and live evening entertainment that winds up at 9pm - again, perfect for young families. We definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a good value resort and will definitely return!

“It's like having your own private beach home.”

The quiet beachfront is what I love. Being away from the 'well traveled' end of the beach makes your vacation prime for it's easier to relax, unwind and really enjoy your stay. The staff is always there to meet your request and does it with a smile.

“Second Time Around from WI”

This is the second time staying at the Outrigger. The rooms could use an update, more comfortable chairs. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The Deckside Cafe has great food. We'll definitely be returning again.

“Good deal for the money”

The hotel is right on the beach, has a tasty cafe and a beach bar. There is plenty of seating for sunning and relaxing. The atmosphere is laid back, many families and in general, pretty quiet. We especially liked that the bar closed at 9:00 every night. This kept it family oriented. The only problem we encountered was the traffic in north Ft. Myers. It was terrible. Although it took longer to come in from the south end from the airport, I would recommend it over the 2 hour standstill traffic coming from north Ft. Myers.
