“Great price, great location, most hospitable owners! Maid service horrible!”

The location of the hotel was a block from the beach. Couldn't have asked for more. The price of the hotel was remarkable. For the little you paid you had great service and close proximity to the beach. The owners were most hospitable. They were always there to help. Super friendly, too! Granted, the hotel is showing signs of disrepair, but it is far from being a dump. Just needs some updating here and there. The only thing that was disappointing about my stay at this hotel was the maid service. Everyday she was knocking at the door bright and early waiting to clean the room. She would wake us up and we would tell her we were still sleeping. 10 minutes later, there she was knocking on the door again. Ugh! One time I was even in the shower and there she was knocking again. And quite honestly, she really didn't clean the room very well at all. We ended up making our own beds. I could go on and on, but it's not necessary. It's just easier saying the maid service was horrible. Other than that, this hotel was perfect for our needs and we would stay there again without hesitation!

Tropi Rock provides all the basic things you need for a comfortable pleasant vacation if your priority is not to spend too much money. The room which I stayed in was really comfortable . Closet, big mirror, fridge, coffee maker ceiling fan, AC -kind of noisy though- two night tables, lamps, tv and balcony. The bathroom has the basic stuff -soap. toilet paper, towels and a bathtub- the water in the shower is really nice -not those kind of lazy water strings!- in general the room was more than good for the price. The elevator is really antique but it works. The swimming pool is very clean and quiet. they also have a Gym which I could not use since I was really busy. The owner: Miguel "Mick" the nicest guy in the whole Ft. L, I think. Really kind and talkative always have the time and a smile for you. The woman -I don't remember her name- I think she is from Peru is really kind too. They also have a friendly lazy dog. One of the most important things is that the hotel is really quiet so if you are looking for silence and peace to relax this is the place Besides its convenient location close to the beach -less than 5 minutes walking distance- and if you do not have a car eazy access to bus routes N 40 and 11 to go to the Galleria mall and Ft.L downtown. To summarize the Tropi Rock Resort is the place for all those who are looking for a very good place with low cost and friendly owners. Thanx a lot guys and my best wishes. Me and my wife stay at "Tropi Rock Resort" in Sep 2011, We loved our stay. The place is a little bit old (ex. CRT TV) but neat and clean. Mike the manager is fantastic, make us feel at home away from home.

One of the best hotels I have evere stayed at. Service was fantastic, personal the owners went out of their way to accomodate us and make us feel at home. Fun and relaxed feel is great for family travel or a getaway with the wife. Close to the beach (3 minute walk) and restaurants/ bars close as well. This is my first choice in hotels in FLL.

“Great budget-friendly experience”

The owner, Mick greeted us so warmly at 11:15 pm, we couldn't get over it -- and showed us to a room that outdid our expectations in every way. Immaculate, fun, REAL furniture, right on the garden. What's to say? Free street-lot parking, safe neighborhood, block and a half from the most beautiful stretch of Lauderdale beach and the delights of A1A; blocks from the two best parks and museums in town (the Button House and the state park) and their fantastic greenery and grounds -- great for walks, tours, history. Loved it.

“Can't say enough good things about Tropi-Rock - Will be back!”

Tropi Rock was fabulous! I'm only sorry I had to wait until the end of the semester to post my review. I went down with my 3 yr old daughter and her dad in October 2010 for a school seminar and we fell in love with the staff and the neighborhood. It's in the middle of things enough but far away from any real craziness. All within walking distance. The beach was a block away - can't beat that! There's an esplanade along the beach that you can walk after dinner. It's such a nice, quaint place to stay if you like that. We did. The pool area was so cool with lush landscaping. The staff and their doggie were so friendly and you felt like you were at home. If you're ok with cozy, comfortable and accessible and don't need ultra-modern decorum, this place will make you happy!

“Great Stay at Tropi Rock”

Our 5 day stay at Tropi Rock was very pleasant. The efficiency unit was clean, the staff was friendly and the location was very close to the ocean. The hotel is uniquely designed and truly welcoming. The kitchen was fully equipped. The chain hotels cost more but do not provide the same standard of care. From now on, we will always stay at Tropi Rock on our annual trips to Ft. Lauderdale.
