“Dilapitaded Building”
Dont go here it is old and the boilers are left off. The price is good but not worth it there is a lot more hotels that are better.
“Not Impressed”
I believe the bed was taken from the side of the road. If two people lay on this king you will soon find yourself rolling to the center of it. My wife did not sleep well. There was a large hole in the drywall below the air conditioner. You could easily see light coming from around the air conditioner in the wall. The ceiling fan blades were covered in dust; I sneezed and coughed all night. The window in the bathroom would not close, not that this would matter. There was a large rust hole in the frame where bugs could easily fly into the room. I have stayed at one star hotels that were better than this two star.
“Aka Bates Motel, horrible, unprofessional, disgusting, terrible, stay away!”
If you want to pay for your hotel and be denied checking in because the owner isn't on property and "just feels like it", than this is the hotel for you. If you want to stay at a hotel that stands by the high regard that Expedia usually represents than say away! We had to call the police after 2 hours of attempting to check in. The office was closed and the emergency phone number provided to call if you need assistance wasn't answered. We had to sleep in our cars, in a different parking lot, because the "free parkng" that the hotel provides is a tow away zone. Don't forget that this "beach front resort" is 2 blocks away in a not so great neighborhood.
“Looks Good in Pictures, But Very Deceiving”
Th GiGi Resort Hotel offrs pictures of a bright red velvet sofa adorned with matching furnishings--very similar to what one might expect from a Kimpton Hotel; you might think you have found a hip, gay themed beach resort. BEWARE. The place looks fine in dim light: although essentially clean, with friendly part-time staff, the hotel is really a converted apartment house, circa 1975. It is very, very banged up with sloping floors, cantankerous air conditing units, with furnishings a mis-matched attic colleciton: its a hodgepodge of discarded furniture that has seen a lot of miles, particularly the bed and couch--although I stress it is not an illicit hotel-- which reminded me of my college party house, just after a good scrubbing before parents' weekend. That understood, the rooms are very large, some come with kitchens, and a few offer living rooms (creaky fans overhead, too). If I was in college, or with a bunch of graduate school friends, I would stay here -- some of the larger room / suites can accomodate many people, and the kitchens are a plus, but make sure you bring spare bedding -- and in this vein is a good bang for the buck It would be a good low cost, party place, only a block or so from the beach and water taxi. Bring your hookah and big boy beer coolers.
“cheap fun in the sun”
Everything was nice if your not expecting the Ritz or Hilton. The room was large and the bed comfortable, Pleanty of hot water and very good working ac. The tv had plenty of channels to choose from, but the wifi was sketchy. The main problem I found was that there was not enough parking for the amount of guests. If you plan on coming back to the guest house after 1:00 am, plan on parking in the gararge down the street. ($25.00 for 24 hrs) The are very strict in Fort Lauderdale about parking and you will get a large fine for parking overnight on the street. The daily managers were very pleasant and helpful. The location was perfect as was the weather so the two minute walk to the beach was perfect. This was my third stay at Gigi's and I would return in a minute.
“comfortable, cozy hotel.”
people are nice, and very kind. I liked to stay there.
“No frills motel, one block from a great beach!”
The hotel was only one block from the beach, great location! Sadly the hotel is in need of maintenance, renovations and some good old fashioned straightening up, it's very old, dingy and messy looking. The window in my room was broken and rust was "bulging & growing" out from the window frame, in spite of this, my room #21. Tahiti, was clean and comfortable! Often no one was in the office but if I dialed the main number from my cell (no phone in the room), my needs were addressed and taken care of by friendly staff. The continental breakfast is SAD; it's only available from 9-10am and consists of only a few muffins, coffee and yogurt. One morning my room didn't have any hot water and it never had any water pressure. The staff was friendly, it's a block from a great beach and the room was clean. Decent for the money and location. I've been in MUCH worse for the same price just a few doors down.
“A Perfect Getaway”
Although only being rated 2 stars, I found Gigi's to be just right. It was well decorated and comfortable, just what my partner and I needed for the weekend. Not to mention that it's located withing walking distance of all the hot spots of Ft. Lauderdale beach.
“I WOULD NOT STAY THERE AGAIN”
We go to Ft. Lauderdale 3 or 4 times a year and wanted to stay in a different place. The resort looked ok of the web, but being there was a different story. We were "upgraded" free of charge to a supposedly nice room. Which was more or less OK, but the smell of smoke from cigarettes of the next door neighbor was unbearable. You could not even open a window as all were sealed shut. We were then moved move to another room and stayed there for the rest of the stay, but not happy. Very badly maintained, very bad service (most of the time there is no one there) the "breakfast" is a joke. I do not recommend staying there. The rate should be at least 50% cheaper for what you get.
