Remote from Fort Lauderdale and most attractions- $65 taxi ride one way. Found an airport shuttle for $18 per person

“Charge for too many things”

Came with 12 people this past week had a great time but don't let the hotel fool you when they say " complimentary breakfast and cocktail hour"!! They do offer them both but they get you to pay for it in other ways which is the reason I will stay somewhere else next time I come to Deerfield beach! They charge you PER NIGHT( alot too) to park your car in the hotel lot which you already pay to stay at!! I think that is the most rediculous thing - we had 3 cars for 4 nights which equaled to alot just to keep the cars parked at the hotel we are paying to stay at!! Also we were guests and we went to use chairs on the beach and they wanted to charge us PER CHAIR....it should be if you are hotel guest that you don't have to pay! Our whole group was very disappointed and will not return to this hotel because of these reasons ... Also, they should consider some type of entertainment during happy hour or even just on the weekends to keep guests around. I must say the staff at breakfast and happy hour were great!!

“Sweet Suites”

Can't say enough good things about the staff. From the lowest level to the highest, courtesy and helpfulness were characteristics of all staff members. Breakfasts were great, room was clean, and the beach was right there.

“hidden fees”

I was disappointed to find out the hotel is not on a private beach because webite said it was, which is why I booked it. When told we had to pay $10/pp per lounge chair each day I was not pleased. We didn't know this ahead of time & I refused to pay such a fee. I never had to at any other resort I have stayed at. Wifi connection was poor at best. We were unable to get access from our computer or from the the hotel's. $18 per day parking fee was excessive. Housekeeping completely missed one of our bathrooms one day & we had to call for towels, shampoo & conditioner. The pluses were: All staff members were extremely helpful & friendly. Daily buffet breakfasts & Manager's Reception were very good. Suites were a good size & comfortable.

When to go

Winter is best. Even though it was hot, summer is a good time because it is not crowded.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Embassy Suites in Deerfield Beach, Florida! The service was great, all of the employees were helpful and friendly. Our hotel room was spacious and very clean. The complimentary breakfast buffet each morning was delicious and included many hot and cold items. The manager's reception each evening was very nice too. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

“Great stay”

(My apologies, the previous comments that I left were intended for another hotel, so please disregard that review) Overall we were very impressed with the hotel and had a great stay, we would definitely come again. The rooms are excellent, and staff is very helpful. The included continental breakfast rocks! A few things can be improved however: - the beach seems kind of dirty, with some garbage laying around, it can be maintained better - the price of parking was an surprise, it would be helpful if it were better advertized in advance so that people could plan for it - the business center is in rough shape, with some computers and cables not working very well - since in the rooms facing the street it's not allowed to dry your beach clothes and towels on the balcony, maybe some kind of drying rack could be installed? These were minor annoyances though, keep up the good work!

“8/1/11”

Great view. Large hotel. Small pool for hotel size. Good breakfast, but no food to rooms (badly scolded for trying, but no signs anywhere). No 2% milk: asked for more...again badly scolded. Fitness room was very busy. A machine broke while my wife was in the room and the running man was somewhat "damaged". Vending machines on floors 4, 5 and 6 did not work, and took $2. In summary, the hotel is pleasant, but is understaffed, starting with valet; it is too big for the amenities provided; and it is short on people pleasing. Great view, though.
